F1 - The Opus - Anyone got £20k spare

The soon to be publish F1 Opus is truly massive in scale, this history of F1 will apparently be half a metre square, over 800 pages and weigh in at over 30 kilos.

The standard version will cost a whopping £3,000, however a limited run of 100 copies will be available, presented in a carbon fibre clamshell case it will be signed by every living F1 champion and set you back a frankly insane £20,000!!!!

Guess what's on my Christmas list, well I can wish, but I would love a copy of this.

Wow. That's amazing. I think there was a competition to win one of those last week during Magny Cours.
 
You could buy Grand Prix! Volumes 1 through 4, The Power and Glory Volumes I and II, and twenty old Autocourses from 1987-2006 and still save a few quid. A subscription to Forix would also be helpful, plus you can use Wikipedia and Google for a quick search. Unfortunately, it doesn't fit on a single bookshelf.

Maybe I'm jaded, but something tells me that this Opus will almost totally ignore the pre-championship era, and without mention of any non-championship races; most of it will cover the era from 1994 to today.

Probably.

I have two hardcover books that do a pretty good job of covering the pre-F1 era as well as the F1 years, but unfortunately neither of them mention non-championship races, except maybe at a glance if a race was particularly noteworthy.
 
You forgot to mention it has its own gps device so it is trackable.
