F10 Vibration Issue

Hello all, I have recently purchased the Ferrari F10 and encountered a strange problem. It seems at particular places in certain tracks when I reach approximately 300 km/h, a sudden vibration seems to envelope the rear of the car.

Is this an issue with the F10 due to it being bulkier than it's predecesor? I have played around with the damper and suspension settings but to no awail.

Has anyone else experienced this problem before?

Happens on nurburgring F1 also indy road and at suzuka, could be a glitch as i did full engine and chassis restore and made no difference. So PD you owe me 1 million credits get it sorted.

Also in Tokyo. I have fully stiffened up the suspension and it has made a little difference.

Encoutered this also. Brand new F10. Thought maybe it was the underside of the car bottoming out at high speed due to the increased downforce.

I've seen this happen when watching F1 on tele, if the ride hight is set to low bottoming out of the skid block occurs and can unsettle the car quite badly not to mention you can be disqualified for to much wear.

Uh just checked the settings pity the ride height can't be changed?

You cant change the ride height of the cars and that are probably the problem. I think they are just bottoming out on the straight, because the downforce is pushing so much that the suspension can't hold it up and the bottom of the car hits the ground. I don't know, but i have tried it, and that is what i think is the reason for the vibration.

Has done it on every track for me. I can only drive it in cockpit view as it helps a little bit with the vibrations. Still a fantastic car though I love it.

Ahh, just bought this car yesterday and it is truly amazing and love it, best car IMO. I haven't played with the settings yet but i too am getting some vibration down the straights and only on certain tracks. Tokyo is fine, but Suzuka but less so. I will have to check the wheel settings to see if that makes a difference. I remember something similar in the F1 GT. Use of this car is limited but grip and poise more than make up for that. Great cockpit view too.

Its possibly the problem that the car is bottoming out at such high speeds therefor causing vibration..

It's a problem on nearly every track. Its the reason why I can't drive it. It shakes my wheel loose and makes too much noise. It seems impossible to fix the problem via tuning. I've tried everything to no avail so I only use it on small tracks where it's much more tolerable.

It feels like some kind of glitch with the car where the front tires are digging into the track. It could just be a ride height problem but that option probably will never be patched in. Reducing the front downforce helps a little but that just makes the car slower overall.

improve your steering! This vibration happens at top speed if your wheel is not:
A: firmly held
AND
B: Does not deliver maximum grip due to straight line acceleration. As soon as you describe a very very small corner (example move 1meter to the side per 100-200m at a speed above 300) it disappears.

Not an issue because all real single seaters are like that , it's not like an F2007 in GT5 I mean even the dozen time world rally champion from UAE crashed a 2008 Renault f1 car (with slicks) on a straight line http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJpURLp4wYI&feature=youtube_gdata_player the F2007 in GT5 isn't the most realistic difficulty wise it's drive is similar to the Toyota f1 in the old GT but it's

The 2007/8 regulations and 2009/10+ have a huge difference despite the UAE rally dozen time world champion crashing the 2007/8 , 2010+ is in a different level

The aerodynamics of the 2007/8 are a lot less turbulent but a lot more drag also which meant pulling out of slip stream to the dirty air , the car would not be just faster than the one infront , that's a reason why they made new regulations to see more overtaking and also too make the car's more driver involved also to see more dangerous maneuvers.

Starting with comparison the 2007/8 had wider and lower rear wing , winglet vains on the sides and mini skirts , flat wheel fairing , fat front tyres and the biggest which is double diffuser all to aerodynamically aid the driver. Gone for 2010. Completely but it's also sebastian vettel himself who helped on gt5's f10 to be virtually simulated.

Lastly it's important to know that gt5 with the most reputable and experienced simulator will have the details always in it meaning because a race car has that aggressive and tricky feeling then it will be in the cars too , mind you vettel is in the simulator when he is not on the track because testing and outside grand prix practices are limited because they only have a maximum number of engines per season and they last no more than 1500 km other than that reason it's reduced costs - advantage for the small teams

Truth of all though is racing car's will never be easy especially the top of motorsport which is F1

I had to read that a few times to half-way decipher what it's supposed to be saying. Still, I'm not sure what you're meaning by "gt5 with the most reputable and experienced simulator". Hopefully you're not suggesting that GT5 is the most reputable simulator. "Experienced simulator"?

Regarding testing being limited, it's not simply a matter of limited numbers of engines available. In-season testing is simply banned in F1, no matter how many engines they have. They can't even just toss in an old, worn-out engine for testing because they're simply not allowed to test.

In short to drive a realistic f1 racing car , you have to have a real f1 racing driver's motivation.

This is not buy and go simulator.

I can tell you I was also like you 5 months ago , if you take it seriously enough with determination you will be able to see what I mean.

Sounds like that rally driver short shifting into 3rd caused the spin. Lucky that he didn't hit the Ford as well.

I watched the onboard of the crash and he just really overdid the steering at the same time he shifted at maximum revs which meant some torque ordered from the engine. In just a split second the car snap oversteered and probably with some tailwind , nothing could be done. But for sure that driver is qualified for any racing car's even F1. Although this never happens to the f2007 in GT5 nor does it get close to something like that but it also would not be anywhere as realistic as to those of f10's

I suppose if you messed around with the differential set up you could make a car handle like that, but with the stock set up that would never happen in GT

It does in the wet , or even in the corners in the dry but as said it only applies to the f10

The crash has a lot to do with the unrealistically easy and unrealistic drive of the f2007 , enzo309 just explained the details opposed to the people who doesn't have enough skill to drive a real genuine f1 car in a simulator ^^ it's important to remember this isn't need for speed : underground and no matter what the f10 would simply stay as it is which is the closest you'd ever get to an F1 car obviously part of the development was world champion sebastian vettel who played all GT's other than that adrian newey was the guy who helped the most with kaz but it's also important to know not everyone can drive race car's or the most outrageous regulated f1's of 21st century.

The issue with the 2010 is that the car bottoms out due to bumps on the track. This would be easily fixable if there were more tuning options, particularly third springs, packers and ride height.

The only way I know to remedy this problem is to unplug the power to the wheel, disabling force feedback.

Blitzkrieg was originally the name of a military tactic, such as a skirmish, but it's usually tied only to that terrible period in time, but it could be applied to other wars.

Back to the topic, even though in GT all cars use the same size fuel tanks IRL the F10 is meant to carry more fuel. This may have altered PD's data causing the bottoming out and vibrations.

what i found was that if i tinkered with the settings the vibration was massive, set them all back to default and it was minimal, much more enjoyable.

If you can handle a real go kart then you should be able to handle this with 10 force feedback , if not then you need to start thinking about working out in the gym because that's how a single seater is especially f1 and even double the effect with the 2010 regulations.

There's completely no issue with the F10 , the issue is people who think f1 car's are easy to control especially when you are on the limit , it's similar to being on the edge of a razor - very few can do it , acrobatic skill is either you have or you don't. A driver with experience ofcourse can do the same but when he drives through a high speed corner and suddenly goes beyond the limit of grip for evermore speed they rarely get away with it. But this only applies to reality of the F10 , the F2007 is very easy and anybody can go quickly on it but the reality of an F2007 is still by far different , it is still a lot harder than it is in gt5

I prefer the F10 over the F2007 because it's easier for me to drive on the very edge of control. I have a DF Wireless, and rarely does the vibration cause me to lose all control. The 130R at Suzuka is definitely the main corner I need improvement (online) on. I drive the F10 with no aids for a week and I can still outrun F2007s with it.


It is better in almost every way performance wise. But too many users complain about the whole F10. I don't have to alter my driving style for it. I have to drive harder in the F2007 to get it on the edge of control.

This is a downforce issue. Not a driving skill issue. It's lazy drivers who won't deal with the raw nature of the F10, and that's their problem. They need to practice in the F10.

I also bought Sports Softs for it, and soon plan to get comfort softs. FF on 10, simulator mode
TCS, ABS, and all other assists unequipped.
