Last Weeks Race Write Up
We have just completed race 4. The grid size has been falling in the series as it struggles to hang on. We near the midpoint of the season here heading into motegi. Seeing as YIN's engine expired durning qualifying and the team did not have a spare on site he failed to complete the race. There is now only 10points seperating 1st and 2nd. 3rd and 4th are only a point way from eachother with 5th only 2 points behind 4th the points look to be really close. We head off to Japan for round 5 of F1GT.
Feel free to discuss times in the thread

That was the first race for us with the new Toyota engine, our team engineer with some ecu program mistake, but so far the toyota engine is much more powerful than the cosworth unit, and the reliability issues has been solved so it's might be our revenge race:D
my best split
t1:22.8**
t2:47.8**
t3:1.00.2**

Nice splits, YIN.

I can really feel the weight affecting the car this week. Here are some splits after a short session with +3% weight:

T1: 23.090
T2: 42.905
T3: 1'00.220

you are so confident and easy to beat my split.......:(

Nice splits as well, east. :)

Tried some more and had a fantastic final sector with the following splits:

T1: 23.069
T2: 42.772
T3: 1'00.186

Could manage a low 1'21 if I got it all together as I've seen 59.8 at T3 before.

On the lap I took those splits from, I was pathetically slow through the corner immediately after T2 as I am now doing T2s in the 42.7xx range and still ariving at T3 with a time in the 59.8xx range. I've also seen T1s of 22.5xx a couple times, but never managed to complete those laps. The only corner im having trouble with is the final chicane, its so damn hard to be fast through there!

What gearing are you using? I'm running 330km/h and use 4th for that corner.

I am also using 330, though I have tried 320 and still came up with the same times, and yes, i am also going through in 4th, I think its something to do with how or when I brake for it or the line I take. I either brake too late and the car steers through the first bit then in an odd fasion steers away from the second bit, or simply brake too ealry and have to wait for the car to roll through the corner to the acceleration zone lol.

EDIT: Just did a T2 of 42.1 and a T3 of 59.6 only to throw it all away in that final chicane :banghead: Was absolutely terrible again through the corner just after T2 again, its not that I cant do this corner, its that when ever I arrive there with a half decent T2 I always mess it up lol.

I tried out 320 for a while, but if I got a good run off the corner to T3, I'd hit the limiter at the end of the straight and it'd throw my concentration. Sounds like you've got the corner down, you just haven't hit it right yet. I find riding the inside curbing provides some stability and helps the car to rotate into the right-hander.

Just gave qualifying another go and found some more time . . .

T1: 22.935
T2: 42.473
T3: 59.712

I wonder how everyone else is getting on with this? And is it just me or would this series be better if it was changed to Qualify one week and Race the next?

Hey guys, I'm home sick from work today as I feel like...well, not good but I did manage to spend some time on the qualy so far, these weight things SUCK! I'm a ways back from Shaun and East, top notch splits guys!

T1 - :23.259
T2 - :43.122
T3 - 1:00.619

im thinking of modifying the penalty weight system so that the people who blow away the rest of us gain wieght and those who are farther behind lose wieght does any one object to this?

I have no objections on that.

However, a question . . . do weight penalties accumulate over the course of the championship, or are they reset each week?

For instance, I'm +3% weight for this round. If I place 2nd in this race, will my penalty for the next round be +2% or +5%?

I believe they are supposed to accumulate I've been running with added weight since week 1, but I have no objections racefan 👍 Majority is always fair in my book

I have no problem with that idea either racefan, I actually thought thats how it was going to be from the beggining.

Well, im gonna go ahead and submit my qualy time, so heres my final splits

22.692
42.056
59.337

Could have gone a bit faster but gave up trying.

Z, if you havnt improved your time from when we last talked then I have you by a tenth, if you have improved then well done to you. I wont be able to get a race time in this week, not enough time, sorry.

@east: Don't know if I can improve much on my qualy lap. I could perhaps match you, but not sure if chasing it down would be worth it as I haven't spent near enough time on the race. I just completed my first attempt at it, doing a two-stopper. On lap 6, the rears are gone, so I decided to pit on laps 5 and 10. If only I could get two more laps per stint. :/

*Coughs, coughs again with all the smoke and dirt left behind by Z. and East* Wait up guys! lolz, great splits...man I"m suckin' hind.....

EDIT: Well I've had some family things come up this week and I won't be able to submit a race time this week, sorry Martin. I may be out for the rest of the series depending on how things go this week. Sorry guys I hate to bail like this, but I'll keep ya posted.

Jerome

 Thought I'd missed the deadline already but according to post 1 it's tonight. Spent two hours last night trying and failing to get a clean race. Not sure I can face it again to be honest but I'll try...

@jump_ace
No worries - I'll try to keep the Toyota dream alive in your absence! Hope everything's OK though...

im exteanding the dealine to next monday oct 23 becuase i have two time plus my own right no either of you two who submitted a time may re-submit for this week

Cool a time extension. May try and improve my time a little more.

Hmmm.... sure is quiet here. Something happen while I was gone?

rmk it is extremly quiet here i dont know what happend i had 3 submissions so decided to give an extension but i dont know if the series can carry on with out drivers

I completed my qualifying and race for this round, but then I saw the extension you posted and figured I'd submit my times based on the new deadline. Not sure where everyone else has gone . . .

i dont want it to die but i cant run it with only 3 times submitted this week its jsut not worth the trouble for only 3 contestestants send me your times as soon as 5 people submit il will post and then move on to the next round.

submissions: 3/5 required for results
