Last Weeks Race Write Up
At the completion of race 3 we had our first DNF of the season. Z. whos engine failed on lap 1 failed to start the race. He apperaed very dissapointed. He at the US GP we saw qualifying tighten up and the racing has got even closer since the wieght penalties are starting to really affect the cars. Race Steward Racefan88501 apolagises to the comeptitors for the amount of time it took to post the results. Now on to Fuji speedway for round for of F1GT

Series updates
Red tarmac and other thing similar are ok to use also going off is ok as long as it does not make you lap faster
Rewards System will be (wieght first power will be the reverse if needed)
1st- +3%
2nd- +2%
3rd- +1%
14th- -1%
15th- -2%
16th- -3%


Round 4-Pacific GP-13 laps- Fuji 90's

How to set up arcade mode
1. go to main screen in GT4
2 click options and look under arcade mode click on RACE
3. change laps to 13
4. make tire wear STRONG
5. make peanalty sped limiter
6. make time none

The car is the last one on the Japan list of cars

Qualification Rules
NO ASM
Any Tire(but like in F1 must DO the race on the same compound)(slected in quick tune)
Run as many laps as needed to get the time you feel is fastest.
Fastest lap must be a clean lap as well
May change top speed


Race Rules
NO ASM
Tires are the same compound you qualify on.
When you pit Must stay on the same compound
Run 13 laps
Run a clean race or your best attempt at it
may change top speed

Submission Rules
Submit to me your Qualification Time, Race Time, And Tire Choice
ALL IN THE SAME PM
Must Submit Times For This Round By Midnight EST on Oct. 9
Times will be posted on Oct. 4th (i will be on a short holiday)

Time protest rules

1. Send me a a PM at the completion of the race(the day after the deadline) and it must be berfore the completion of the next race weekend
2. in the pm state some sort of reason why the time should be protested
3. upon me reviewing the protest i shall ask the competior in question to submit a demo
4. i will review the demo
5.
A. the lap(or race is ligit) in wich case nothing will happen
B. the race(or lap) is not legit in which case the penalty will be severe it will include(but is not limited to) a -10 point peanalty and other peanalties i find nessacary
6. if someone makes an honest typo or ther mistake and lets me know before complation of the next race this will be considered a mistake and i will fix the error

Neato, FTP! Good racing everyone. Now I ran my qualy lap last night assuming I didn't get a top 3 finish and I have my regular +2% weight and I got a time just under 1:05, I would imagine in the race I'll be getting about 1:06-07's.

I did some practice, but I didnt count on having any weight penalties, so now I gotta start again :D
 
i try hard lastnight,i think it's hard to go in the 4 sec range:scared:
 
Splits from qualy get me close to 1'03.5: Guessing somewhere in the mid 1'04-1'05 range for the race.

:mad: :cool: 🤬 Damn u Shaun, lolz. Those are some speedy splits my friend. I should post my splits here and compare. Are you taking the uphill right in 6th gear at full throttle (just before T2)? And the sharp left just after T1 in 3rd or 4th? I'm at 360 gearing and can't seem to decide and every lap I do its always changing...hellllpppp mmmeeeee......hehehe, thx in advance guys.

i think that every 1% weight could slow me down to about 0.1 sec,so i have to try 9% harder than usual,that's hard:(
 
Well heres my best splits so far

T1 - 17.809
T2 - 33.337
T3 - 51.149

Thats with the +1% weight, im guessing my final time is around 9 tenths off Z's

I'm taking the hill at the top of 5th with about 80% throttle, then shift to 6th at the apex. For the chicane at T1, I use 4th. It seems to work very well if you brake ~.2 or so after the T1 splits pops on screen.

I see that Daddy-O didn't send in a time:(, I wonder where he is?
Because if he does not want race I will most likely quit:(.
 
Great I will try those things out later perhaps, here is my current splits about 30 min in:

T1 - :17.352
T2 - :32.861
T3 - :50.950

EDIT - Now about 1.5 hours into this sweet combo, I decided because of the high rumble strips and dirt patch etc to turn tcs on, that includes my prev splits too, fyi /\ still at +2% and I think I'll never get this lap again:

T1 - :17.409
T2 - :32.920
T3 - :50.651 (finally got my braking point perfected here entering the chicane so I'm only .4 behind you now Z. and that has something to do with the sharp left out of T1 I'd wager)
But I think I'll be ready to race this weekend tho! Oh and as much as I'd like to be in the 1:03's...I'm not by .03 :ouch: lol

Hey Z, was just wondering if youre using TCS or not?

Yep. My driving style won't really allow me to use the full potential of the car without it.
 
I gave TCS a try and it did seem alot faster through the low speed corners, in particular turn 1 and turn 4, the problem I have with TCS is I always lose the rear end of the car through super fast corners like at turn 3 the uphill right hander or even the final turn sometimes if im not careful. With TCS off im able to go through turn 3 flat if I get my line right but am a bit slow in the low speed corners.
 
Yeah, I'm having the exact same experience with TCS as you east.
I cannot get through that tightening right without the car snapping away from me. Maybe that's because I use the DS2 with directional buttons - not the smoothest steering inputs...
 
Got a decent 'first draft' of my race completed. I don't see myself shaving any more than 2 seconds off of that time by deadline.

@sausages: Are you taking the hill in 6th? If so, you might be too low in the rev range for that gear which would cause a snap effect. If you can hit it right in 5th and then shift to 6th in the middle or at the exit, you'll be more in the power for that gear as well, which should create some stability. I use the DS2+D-pad also and find 6th all the way through to be very inconsistent.

Ya I'm at +2% and really our T1's are identical the real key to this track is the left just after T1 the better you take that turn the more speed you can carry thru for the uphill righty (usually in high rpms in 5th gear) and you can brake just a little bit late for the hairpin left at T2 and accelerate so you hit the rumble strips on the right side so you can have max acceleration for the long straight, that seems to be where I'm gaining some time and also try braking just a little late for the chicane again so when you exit them your right tires hit the right strip before T3. Those are the things I concentrate on and I know Shaun has them down flat so we'll see how the race goes this week :scared:

Well I hit my mark every lap my first race, its was pretty solid, I may have taken that pit entry a lil' slow but maybe .3 there o well. I can see getting another 2 seconds as follows: T1 - Usually 17.6 T2 - Usually 33.8/34.1 (bad rear passenger tire :() T3 - 52/52.3 (again bad tires) Getting very consistent laps at 1:05.4 1:05.8 :D which is what I want my last lap was 1:06.1 but I did decide to pit at the end of lap 6 so either it was a 1:06 on lap 7 or lap 13. But so far I'm happy, will rerun this one later I'm sure. I had one pretty hard bump into the AI enterin the T2 split on the last lap and I litterally gasped..Oh Sh-...sweet! Thought I was a goner, lol.

After more than 250 laps I just got my first 1:05.2xxx !!! I know it's slower than the rest of you but I'm excited! I've got identical splits at T1 but I lose about 2 seconds or so as of T2 and I'm gaining about a second @ T3, so if I can get that first chicane and the hill just right, I'll be right there with you guys! This is the first time I've been excited through this whole thing. And I have a pinnacle thing comming sometime next week so if I actually manage to beat anyone I can post a vid.

if 1.05.2** is not your best with 2 sec room improvement,i think i'm really being left behind....
 
Shaved another second off my race time after trying out the AI strategy set at +1 difficulty (Used 0 before). After this one, I still see another 1.5 seconds out there if I don't get tangled up with the AI; they're sure a pain in the arse on the second stint.
