i ran a 1'28.827 in arcade, the current record actually, using a wheel
 
I ran a 1'29.690 in arcade time trial, about 13th or 14th in rankings, i'm using a DFGT. Can't get anywhere near holl01's time on pretty much every track except for daytona road course. Keep up the good driving holl01.

i just recently started playing with a wheel this week. best is just 1'32'8xx atm in arcade time trials.

do you guys tune the f1 car at all? i just been running it as is and tryin to get my time down more before i fiddle with the car.

I do all my times in the F2007 in arcade time trial so I can't tune the car at all. So no I don't tune the F2007 at all. You just have to keep on chipping away at it to get your time down. You will go faster I can gurantee it, I always do, It does take time but you will go faster.
 
There must be a differnce in the versions of the game:
blue ray, download, PAL, JPN, USA.

With every car or track combination (almost) I get at least one of the top ten times.

Started with the F1.2007 on Suzuka I'm on 1.31 (almost perfect lap).
Tried in race mode (changing only aerodinamics) the car starts to behave like in the holl01 replay, more grip in the s turns, and rached 1.29
I watched at the speeds along the s turns: holl01 keeps an average of 220kmh, my F1 doesn't have grip over 200kmh.
I notice a difference in the car dynamics, you can't lower 2" with the configuration I have

Anyone on this?

Same old story I'm afraid. I have 3 versions of the game and there's no difference as far as I can see. People have been looking for a reason why holl01 is so fast for some years now, especially his skill of maintaining speed through turns, but over time they've all learnt to accept that his driving skill is out of this world and it has nothing to do with him having a better version of the game.
 
I just beat 1:27, new time now 1:26:810.
EDIT: Major record update, time now 1:26'387.

Have a go at doing this in time trials with minimal downforce. See how you go. You can just compare yourself to many more people.
