F430 in the parking lot

Today someone from the company upstairs sharing our building brought his F430 to work. And I have to say, it is absolutely beautiful.
Forget what you've seen on the net. Pictures don't do the beauty of the car Justice. You don't get a true sense of the dimensions of the car and how the front end works with the perspective it's being viewed at by human eyes.
The front air scoops? Not ugly by any means. Images on the net tend to make them too big. They're actually quite small... the black plastic surounding makes it look big. In person the plastic is more of a dark grey with black mesh wiring for the opening.

Then there's the engine bay. Wow.

Probably one of the coolest features I noticed was that there's a fire extinguisher inside the car. Down by the passenger side of the center console. Wrapped in matching interior leather, of course.

And I have to respect the person who bought this fine automobile. He decided to go with a dark red (think red wine color) exterior paint with a medium-dark tan interior. Pure class. And above all... he picked it up with a standard 6-speed manual tranny! A true enthusiast, I have to say!
I think this is the only Ferrari that I've seen in this color. Far less common than the cliched red and yellow.

It's a shame I don't have a camera with me... from now on I'll leave it in my car incase he decides to bring the car to work again. I love it when people who can afford these exotics actually take the time to drive their cars like it was any other car. Hats off to you, good sir!

'Tis a great car, but I'd personally hold my applause until I saw how he handled that thing on the roads. Class is nice, but performance and skill is king in my book. YMMV, of course. 👍

Pah - I beat you by a good two weeks.

It's a shame my life has been reduced to trying to find cool cars before other people.

And before anyone tries to claim the first GTP sighting of a DB9 convertible, I saw one of those on Tuesday.

I beat you by a cople of months if you look in my motorsports topic.

That guy must have a big set - I'd be far too :nervous: to leave a car like that in a carpark all day. I think I'd be more worried about it getting scratched by some wanker, or even dinged with a door than it actually getting stolen.

I bet when he came back at the end of the day there were nose prints all over the windows

Well done that man - at least he's sharing his car with masses. :)

I never thought Ferrari could outdo the Ferrari 360 Modena until the F430. The only thing I can probably live without is the Ferrari Enzo cues at the rear of the car. This is perhaps the damndest beautiful Ferrari in the 21st Century. Maybe the best looking I'd prefer if I had a license and briefcases of money. That thing is a beast. It doesn't matter who saw it first. It's all about seeing it, believing it, and eventually... loving it. As I do. You dig? We cool? Alright. Peace!

 - no, JohnBM01. Do you still talk to MistaX though?

Shows how much attention I was paying to the thread :O Must be something in the Texas water, y'all ;)

No, I never really spoke to him in the past come to think of it..

I think it's one of those split things. I can't see a single styling element on this car that I think is an improvement over the 360.
Is it mechanically superior enough to make up for what I think is a significant hit in the looks department? If I were ever going to own one, the answer would be most certainly yes. I'm not though, I can only look, so this is bad. Bad F430!

It's just something I like doing. Now if you're just going to make fun of me and stay off-topic, then go ahead. If not, I made my point about the F430 which is more important than bringing up horse crap. One magazine had the F430 spyder, and it's pretty sweet as well. Forgot what magazine it was when I was at Barnes & Noble this past Saturday. It wasn't a car magazine, though.

Anyhow, I like it. I like the F430. Well done Italian sports car.

Prove it then.
If you saw it the first time at Goodwood, then beat you by two days because I went two days before you. If you saw it before then, well you've beaten me. :)

Saw= in the US, now? :D

Yes dammit! :D

Actually I've decided to start going to Country of Origin and waiting outside factories for the newest models to come out. Want to take a trip with me to Modena?
