Failed Message Pop-Up

Howdy!

I keep getting this window pop-up this morning that says:

A connection to the server
could not be established.(ID = 2:0)

I'm logged onto the PSN, so I don't think it's that.

Is it just me?
Is there some issue with the GT servers going on?
Do I have to worry?

I've never seen this before.
If anyone knows and could share some info, it would be awesome...

I just got the same message. I tried several troubleshooting methods and no luck. I've also tried to sign out of my PSN and signing back in, but now I can't sign back in. (Error message 8071053D)

I had trouble signing into my PSN a couple days ago, but I changed my DNS settings on my Network Settings and it worked fine after that. Not sure what's going on here. I'll try to revert back to my default settings and see if that works.

I've heard about that. Saw the video and everything. Thought that may be why, but it's been fine up to this point. Now I'm able to sign back into my PSN, though. Didn't change my DNS settings.

Now attempting to establish a connection to the GT5 servers.

EDIT: Now able to connect to GT5 servers. Try it now.

Please note that any services provided by Sony (PSN, PS blog, SCEA websites, PS Store, etc) and any online features for any games on the PS3 may or may not periodically function properly, or at all, over the course of the next couple days, or however long this event permits.

I'd heard about the whole "Anonymous" thing - I think it was a couple of days ago.

I've been online and logged onto the GT5 servers as recent as 1:00am (or about eight hours ago).
I never turn my PS3 off. (It's a new, well-ventilated "slim" model I bought about a month before GT5 came out, so I'm not terribly worried about a YLOD. Besides, how else am I gonna earn - preferably without glitching, although at this point I'm considering it - the millions and millions of credits I need to buy the last sixty or so cars needed to have as full a car collection as someone in the USA who didn't buy the Collector's Edition can have?)

This just all of a sudden started happening when I came down this morning to get some "extra caffeinated, lightly carbonated, citrus-flavored" beverage and to start some new B-Spec races before I logged onto my work laptop and work from home today.

Whatever it is, as long as it's not "just me", and it's nothing I need to worry about as far as trashing my game progress or the function of my hardware, then I guess I'll just have to ride out the 🤬 inconvenience...

EDIT: Thanks for the heads-up, stupidstormy36, I'll have to wait until by B-Spec Bob finished running the Dream Car Championship for like the 10,000th time until I can check and see if I'm back to normal!

Well, whatever. On a side note, error message 8071053D is caused by a power issue with the Playstation 3.

Several steps apparently is to be taken to resolve this error as follows:

1.Turn the PS3 to standby power off.

2.Turn off the power on the PS3 by using the power toggle switch on the back of the PS3 and unplug power cord.

3.Restart your wireless router, if using one.

4.Plug in the PS3 power cord and power on the PS3.

5.Try creating a new connection on the PS3 by accessing the Network Settings menu option on the Playstation 3.

I didn't have to do any of those steps. I think my error was PSN related on Sony's side (not the fault of Sony).

I know it's off topic here, but useful info somebody else may find, well, useful.
 
Yerh I just had this problem, but it seems to be working aite for the moment! Stupid hackers! Why can't Sony do something about it sharpish!
 
They are doing something about it.

Patrick Seybold, Sr. Director of Corporate Communications & Social Media at SCEA, posted a noticed on the PlayStation Blog [tonight] saying: "We're aware that some of you have been experiencing intermittent service on PSN [today]. We're working on finding a solution, and will report back here as soon as it's resolved."

Sony said [today] it is now investigating the cause of these outages: "We are currently investigating, including the possibility of targeted behavior of an outside party. If this is indeed caused by such an act, we want to once again thank our customers who have borne the brunt of the attack through interrupted service. Our engineers are working to restore and maintain the services, and we appreciate our customers' continued support."

In the second paragraph, Sony is obviously refering about Anonymous as the "outside party".

The reason anonymous have done this is so pathetic, if you look at their reasons and their statement it actually looks like a 12 year old wrote it.
 
I was playing last night and noticed something in the bottom right corner that flashed download complete.I was not downloading anything,it seemed strange.I cannot access my account this morning also.I wonder if indeed they did hack Sony and our accounts.
 
its soo freaking annoying! why cant they just get a freaking job bloody losers!
 
Well, mine thankfully came back, and with no noticed issues.

At least whatever technical issue occurred (whether courtesy of Anonymous or not) wasn't terribly long-lasting or permanently detrimental to me.

Here's hoping everyone else finds the same experience!

Are you sure it said "Download complete.", or did it say "Installing..." instead?

If it said "Installing...", then that's normal. That's GT5 installing additional content from th BD disc onto your HDD to speed up loading times.

The PS3 usually doesn't download anything without the owner's consent, and prompts the user before downloading anything.

The only signs of hacking that did occur were DDoS attacks. That should've only caused the servers to overload rather than download anything. Maybe I'm wrong here.
