I might as well ask this here....is there a confirmed release date for the fall update?

Nope, but it will probably get delayed.

Good one

I have a question too. Does anybody know something official about the fall update other that those one or two sentences of a PD stuff, way back on PS.blog when GT5P was released in the USofA ?
An interview, just something officially confirmed ???
I only know about said response back on PS.blog, everything else i found was only rumours :nervous:

There has been nothing 100% confirmed but Kaz hinted that this fall update might have car damage, new cars, and new tracks. However he also had this to say "This is Gran Turismo, so it might be a little bit late." Of course it will be.

When was that? I remember an interview a while ago when he was talking about damage, but I don't think he mentioned new cars or tracks.

In any case, I don't really mind, an update's an update and updates are good, free ones especially. It should help convince those who said GT5p was nothing more than an overpriced demo, when we're getting updates and Forza 2 isn't anymore despite the massive online following it's got (and rightly so, I hope this doesn't get mistaken for fanboyism), from what I've read.

GT5 in 2010 may well be the case, but if GT5p is supported like it has been (not just with updates, but with the online events too) continually and consistently until then I don't think the wait will be that bad

IGN: Earlier this year, you mentioned that Polyphony was working on a patch for GT5 Prologue that would add damage modeling to the game later this year. Is that still happening?

Kazunori Yamauchi: Our plans haven't changed, and we're working on it. But this is Gran Turismo, so it might be a little bit late. [laughs all around]

Well I hope the damage patch will be in the update, plus I think it would be a good idea to make the damage affect the person who rams into the back of you to have the front end of their car damaged in such a way that it affects the performance of their car so they are not be able to continue the race, but the person who's been rammed can continue without damage to their car. I think that would be a fair way of implementing the damage physics. I think a lot of people would agree, as it would promote more drivers to be extra carefull.

That would not work they tried that kind of thing with the penalty system and that doesn't work properly. We need private rooms not damage or both.

I hope so too (not like ferrari challenge)

What about the punters who stop infront of people on purpose so when they get rammed from behind they get extra speed and also slow the car behind them by alot, and if damage was like that, the driver would end up getting damaged to, while the punter would drive away fast and damageless.
If I was the car in the back I would be pissed.

My projection is there will be another update after TGS in October, which might include Nordschleife circuit.

Remember October 08 will be exactly one year after they launch the Demo in Japan, I say highly likely they will do an update (or something) around that time.

I see your point but the new penalty physics that will be in the august 1st updade will penalise all those that brake check to gain an unfair advantage, therefore the break checker will get the penalty instead of the person whose been brake checked. I would think that the damage physics would recognise that the brake checker was at fault and the person who could not aviod the rear end shunt won't receive damage to their car. private races would solve the problems of the clueless tools, as they could be barred from races, but I think my original idea would work provided that PD are able to implement it with the new penalty system. heres hoping anyway.

I would prefer both people to get damaged as its realistic, once the private rooms come the punters will stick to match making and the proper racers will race in the private rooms.

I'm sure the August 1st update will completely overhaul the penalty system and vastly improve on what we have at the moment.

A James Bond style turd shooter attached to the rear of our cars would maybe stop the punters, as soon as the punter is about to slam into your rear end, you activate the turd shooter, causing the would be punter to spin out (just kidding)

On the topic of updates. My ps3 died. I did not transfer my prologue data to a memory stick before I sent the machine to Sony(who will have formatted my hdd), so I will have lost my spec II update data. Is there anywhere I can download the spec II data from to my pc and transfer via memory stick, or do I have to wait till I get my ps3 back. Thanks.

Same here and/or performance to be affected for both cars 💡
