There is, seemingly A car (as in "one made ever ever ever") out there which goes by the name:

"Mazdaspeed MX-3"

(although it may well be a Eunos 30X, Eunos Presso or AZ-3).

It looks like this:

The thing is, there seems to be absolutely NO information about the specification of this car (other than it being the 1845cc V6). And, sadly, that's exactly what I want.

Famine Challenges You! Find me the specs of the Mazdaspeed MX-3.

(There is a good reason behind this request, I assure you)

I like that.

I've only heard of this car once, and that was 2 years ago in a Mazda Owner's Forum.

I will try my best to help you Famine! 👍

The logical first step would be to log on to a site/forum where they discuss Mazdas and/or MX-3s, and then search for "Mazdaspeed MX-3", which I did, of course... and I came up with a thread started by Famine with pretty much the same request as this one... although it didn't place the challenge as such...

Still, I've come upon several 1.8 V6 MX-3s, most of them because of the highly notable feature of having one of the lowest displacement V6 engines ever fitted to a production vehicle and having a top speed of approximately 136 mph.

Still, I'll continue the search for what may very well be the ONLY Mazdaspeed MX-3 in GB.

Edited because of this: What is the difference between the Mazdaspeed MX-3 and the 1.8 V6 MX-3... and when was it built?

One last question, why didn't you get something like a '99 Peugeot 206, I'm sure it would've been easier to find stuff for it  Next thing you'll ask us to find the specs of a Hemi-Gremlin

I believe it's just a body kit and wheels. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Actually, the smallest V6 engine (for petrol) is Mitsubishi's 6A10. A 1.597cc available in the 1992 Mitsubishi Lancer. The second smallest is that of the MX-3.

And from what I've heard, the smallest V6 is also one of the worst....

I haven't driven it, so who knows?!?!?

You've heard wrong then.

I have driven it, and have lived with it for the last 18 months. I can safely say that, amongst the myriad cars I've driven, it's the best.

MazKid - I was under the impression that, along with the body kit (nasty rear spoiler) and wheels, there was also some suspension and braking work.

Diego440 - I'll get a Peugeot 206 when my taste filters have been bypassed and I want a raspy 4-cylinder fat-ass with a hobby of comedy breakdowns.

No need to get all aggressive there, he he. I know what you mean, it was just an example in which you'd be able to find parts more easily. I used to own three Mustangs (not at the same time), and one of them was an '81, and all the part-makers made parts (redundant there, eh?) for the 1964-1978 and from 1983-2000 so I had a hard time finding anything for it, other than the interior stuff, which made the car look suspiciosly like a Mercury Zephyr.

Still, you didn't answer my year question.

Still, you didn't answer my year question.

That's because I don't KNOW the answer...

Everything about the Mazdaspeed MX-3 seems to have taken on the patina of myth and legend, only spoken about in hushed voices when hardened MX-3phytes meet in secret places.

The MX-3 V6 was produced 1991-1998 though (well, 1997 really).

Have you tried emailing Mazda UK?

Just phone and ask. If they say something like they have more important things to do, redial and say you're some kid doing a school project etc etc.

Mazda UK have no e-mail details.

blue_sharky39 - that's just the normal MX-3. 1.6i or 1.8i manual. I HAVE one of those... I'm looking for specs on the Mazdaspeed MX-3 - of which allegedly 24 made it into the UK...

That site has a buch of posts about the Mazda 3. You might find your answers there.

I bet this is something worth looking at. A forum for the MX-3 only.

The 92-96 Mazda MX-3 (known as the MX-3 Precidia in Canada) shares the same basic
chassis with the BH Protegé. The MX-3 uses longer front and rear control arms than the
Protegé and has a slightly wider track width. The MX-3 also uses different powertrains
than the Protegé; the 92-93 base model used an 88 hp 1.6L SOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder
engine, and the upmarket GS used a novel 130 hp 1.8L DOHC 24-valve V-6. In 1994,
an upgraded 105 hp 1.6L DOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder engine was added to the base
model, and it was retitled the MX-3 RS in Canada. Early in 1995, the V-6 was
discontinued in the U.S., but was still sold in Canada through the 1996 model year. In
1997, Mazda discontinued the MX-3.

I think this one is your best bet. Nope, scratch that.
