I'm on quite a tight budget as I also need to look at replacing my rather outdated NVidia GeForce 8600 GTS graphics card in the near future (and this wheel is for my PC).

Which of these two wheels is better, and which lasts longer? I've just had to junk a Thrustmaster Ferrari GT Experience after its pedals died (and I'd already replaced the bungee cord inside the wheel), so I'm a little nervous about the longevity of Thrustmaster wheels (I'd had one in the past, but was much younger and broke a cable myself, well, the pins in the cable) - but I do know their customer support is pretty top notch.

I have a tendency to stamp on the power and brakes, as well as being rough with the wheel, so I need a pretty solid wheel (and this is another reason, apart from the fact I could never afford it and can't justify the cost, why I don't want an expensive wheel) that lasts. I also want the clutch pedal and manual shifter, so a Logitech Driving Force GT is pretty much a no-go.

Thenthrustmaster wheel dosent look too great. I'd probs go for the fanatec :)

If not a dfgt.

I don't know which of the two wheels last longer as I have no experience with the RGT, but the Fanatec wheel won't last. At least the pedals wouldn't. I bought the Carrera set in August. I've gone through 3 sets of the standard pedals (thankfully replaced under warranty pretty hassle free). The second set lasted the longest but that's probably because I used them VERY little for those months. Otherwise, the first set lasted me about a month and the last set lasted me 2 weeks (I did the 24h of Le Mans that week).

I also had a minor connection problem with the wheel itself. Thankfully, all of these were taken care of fairly hassle free under warranty. The only issue is if you're at all in a hurry to get a new set, well, you're screwed. They're SUPER slow to respond.

And FWIW I'm no longer on the Carreras. Every time something goes wrong, they offer you an upgrade for retail minus the cost of the defective part and shipping. I've declined every time and they always just send me a new replacement instead. They stopped selling these in the states (and I assume they no longer stock it) so they couldn't send me a new wheel and they couldn't send me a new set of standard pedals after the 3rd set. Ultimately, they sent me a refurbished GT3RS for free and just upgraded me to the CSR pedals for free.
