I was wondering the other day what might have happened to TJ. Has anyone here heard any news of him since the final acquisition?

Depending on how leveraged he was in Fanatec, I guess there is a chance he is now bankrupt?

I do not think so. He made money all these years. No big financial problems for him i suppose.

I hope he will come up with a new sim racing equipment boutique brand in the future.

He and his team were giving milestones every once and a while in the sim racing community.

He has way more things to offer in sim racing.
Let's hope he is doing ok.

That’s good, hopefully all the bases will default to QR2 too if they haven’t already.
 
About time, but too late for me, one of the reasons I just ordered a Moza was the mess that quick releases are option wise with Fanatec right now.
 
I commented on Will's Facebook post this morning regarding this. I literally had the McLaren wheel in my cart yesterday, but decided not to buy it because they wanted an additional 80 dollars for the QR2. Purchased it this morning and it was free with the wheel purchase. A few others cancelled their orders from yesterday and re-purchased today to save the money. Kind of stupid that they just do this out of nowhere.
 
It was also a barrier for me and one of the reasons I bought the DD Pro was they threw in the base side QR2 for free.
 
I got a random email about an RMA last week. I couldn't tell you what it could have been for, but it seems like they are churning through items in their CRM software 👍 I'm feeling 'back to normal' about owning my Fanatec gear now. Is the general consensus the same way?

The newly introduced QR2 wall mounts just got delivered to me, and interestingly the packaging prominently features Endor logo's.

Guess the packaging was finished up ages ago already.

Hopefully they’re decent.

I’ve been using some 3d printed ones for a year which are serviceable but seem to struggle with heavier wheels.

Just installed one, replacing a 3d printed one, and it's loads better.

The 3d printed one I had to pull back the release on the wheel to get it on, but this one works properly and just slides on. The wheel is also on quite solidly, where it was a bit wobbly on the 3d printed one.

And I'd say they're decently priced (still expensive for a bit of plastic, but whatever), as this set of 3 is only 50% more than what I paid for a single 3d printed one.

One thing to note, as I mounted it on an aluminium profile rig: where I could mount the 3d printed one using M6 bolts, these only fit M5 bolts. I had to search around for some M5 T-nuts to mount it (luckily I had exactly 2 still laying around)

ANyone else having issues with the latest Driver for Windows? The name is "Driver 464", I download it OK but when i go to open the ZIP I get a pop up saying "Fanatec Driver 464.ZIP is invalid". Weird as I have not had issues with previous drivers.
 
Weird, it worked once I deleted the older drivers from my desktop. No idea why that worked but i'll take it! So does this mean i need to update the wheel/pedals/base with this latest update or is this just a software update? As in the software on the PC not in the gear?

I had to try a couple of times to download it. I was getting some sort of error that something wasn't available, don't remember exactly what it said. But when I downloaded it directly from the Fanatec control panel it worked. I didn't get any other prompts to update rims or pedals so I assume it was an update for the base only.
 
When updating, I recommend always doing these steps:
  • Uninstall old driver package
  • Restart computer
  • Install new driver package
  • Restart computer

If you don't restart (and the installer doesn't tell you), you may encounter issues.

Just realized how inappropriate place this forum is for my question, as I have just decided to drop Gran Turismo after 27 years. 😂 Thrustmaster or other manufacturers dont have a proper new wheel for PS5 and there is no way i'm going to pay the greedy "Sony tax" for ps compatible Fanatec. I think i'm just fine without Gran Turismo from now on.

Not jsut wheels but also the universal hubs. Sadly fanatec are out of stock for the xbox version (and also all wheel sets that use that hub)...

The the universal hub v23 for xbox (and the wheels for xbox based on this hub) are back in stock and still include the free qr2 wheel side.

I think i'm just fine without Gran Turismo from now on.

I purchased the DD Pro (8nm) Base for 550€ and that Sony Tax sure made it seem like a premium product, which it isn't 😖
Basically that DD Base itself is like 200$ when bundled (plus chinese cheap power brick and QR upgrades which are frauds imo)
So i'm in same situtation as you are, fine without GT... Glad i managed to sell them forward.

Well maybe for a starter the tax isn't that awful, but updgrading or changing manufacturer isn't worth it at the moment imo.

Delivery was within 4-7 working days, but everything came in own packages. Couple of them went straight to UPS Access Points without any email/phone notification whatsoever.
