Ok, so I have owned my fanatec carerra wheel for about 2 months now, and at 1st it feeled really tight and lovely to use. Now, however, I find myself getting extremely annoyed everytime I use it.

It all started about a month ago when the wheel started to develop a loud metallic ticking noise when it was turned slowly. This didn't bother me too much, but it was off-putting.
About a week later, as I was using the wheel on GT5, I put my foot down on the clutch and there was a loud bang. The clutch then lost all rigidity, and upon further inspection (me opening it up) I found a shattered spring inside. Brilliant. I took the spring out and continued use of the wheel, planning to get a replacement spring later on.
Another problem arose less than a week ago. Everytime I put my foot down on the clutch to change gear, the brake comes on slightly. I am not touching the brake, yet its braking. This slows me down on straights and just annoys me. Also, my brake sometimes never goes down fully (the pedal is fully down yet the bar ingame is about 80%) and the bars that the shifter is attatched to slides through the wheel.

Is anyone else experiencing problems with this wheel?! It cost me 150euros, and although it is the cheapest gate shifter wheel, I expect it to last longer than 2 months without all these problems?!

Wow, as of about 20 minutes ago, now it brakes slightly when I press the throttle down...

Good thing ive been swung towards the g27 then!!! oh dear dude hope you get it fixed..sorry i cant really help either, i guess its a case of contacting fanatec

Im not sure if they will take back the pedals as they have been opened... Dont know what to do really, it wouldnt be so bad as long as the damn pedals worked!!

Hmmm bad signs. Mine arrived with a loose USB port on the wheel, but apart from that it's been all good. F1 2010 seems to have much stronger feedback an has made appreciate the wheel much more!

Definetely not going to get the Fanatec 911 Carrera wheel, considering all the bad reviews i heard about this wheel.

When it works, it is definitally the best wheel (for its price) in the market. But it's up to you if you want to risk the reliability issues.

🤬 this, now I have another problem! The clutch keeps jamming, oh what an investment this wheel was.
