Hey guys. Just hoping to get some feedback about possibly getting this wheel. I just have a PS3 and PC, never plan on getting an Xbox. I can't find much about the Carerra final edition on the net, so was hoping someone here has some good experience with it. It is a fantastic deal to get the wheel, pedals, and stand for $200. I currently have a Logitech MOMO Racing setup, and it doesn't work with GT5 and the pedals are getting pretty glitchy. Would this be $200 well spent?

Hmm I would say yes and no at the same time.

But you are in the same footstep as me, from Momo to 911 Carrera.
Overall its a really good bargain that you'll pay for. I didn't get the final edition since I know at the near future I am going to build a rig for my wheel. But the wheel and the stand is really good for what you are paying for.

Beware though, the Fanatec standard pedals are not lasting. They have problems with the clutch and the brakes. When pressing the clutch it sometimes map over the brakes which makes you lose valuable times and the brakes will eventually lose all of its braking. Fully stepping on the brake but only using such as 85%-90% of it.
So you might be disappointed with the pedals, which can force you to get new pedals... which I am trying right now...

I got this wheel (final edition) in the summer and overall I'm very happy with it!
It really is a bargain; the original price of the stand is 125€ here, and the wheel 150€, so really I payed only 50€ for the stand (or full price for stand and only 75€ for wheel)!
About the pedals, I really love them! I have no problems with the brake not applying full pressure or the pedals wearing out. They are still in perfect condition and work as they should. The clutch pedal feels very good, the brake pedal has good resistance and the throttle pedal does the job (very loose but that's not really a problem).

Go for it! :sly:

Thanks for the responses guys. I will probably go ahead and get it and if the pedals start freaking out I will upgrade to one of there better sets of pedals. I'm short on money for a while but in a few months I will have a little more.

Yea I had been reading about the loud shifter. I will see if I can bear it and if not I will definitely do the mod. Is there thread somewhere that has all the info about what kind of shifting can be done and what can't be done? I'm seeing a whole bunch of conflicting info about problems that GT5 has with clutching and shifting, and I'm wondering currently if there are any problems or not.

Im not sure, but I really dont seem to be having any problems with my shifter and clutch in GT5. Maybe its because people are misshifting getting into wrong gears or sometimes it will go to neutral. I got the hang of the shifter so I no longer have this problem. I dont know if thats just the case or not.

You have to make sure you are completely off the gas or the clutch won't register and it won't switch gears. That was the only issue I'd seen.
