i all,

Just wondering does anyone use the clubsport v2.5 formula wheel with a 8nm base? If so, have you any issues with gear shifting and buttons not working consistently?

I bought the base and wheel around 2 months ago. Installed all latest drivers and firmware and it worked fine for about 2 days. I mapped the buttons on gt7 to what I wanted (the wheel showed up under Fanatec Podium on gt7) .

The gearshifts and buttons then started playing up more and more. It was unraceable so i posted on fanatec forum and was told to install old drivers (think was 455) and firmware. The gearshift issues went away but it would no longer let me map buttons.

Now after this time the gear shifting issues have started again.

I have been told to make sure I have the correct old firmware for wheel and wheel base but I dont know what versions they are?

Can anyone please help me if you have found a solution to this!

Thanks.

Hey.. Had same problem, upgraded the shifters and the problem was gone, and you have much better shifters.

Being on the older driver 455 is good for now as there is shifting issues w the newer Firrmware

Mapping button in GT7 is confusing because of this one key point:

Buttons are mapped in the tile for the wheel base - NOT one which may show the wheel. Wheel is not actually recognized in GT7 only the base and only the bundled wheel is shown - so formula wheel w DD2 base

So for the 8nm base this this would be the GT Pro/DD extreme tile - even though a different wheel is shown which is the GT wheel

So click on that. On the formula wheel identify where all the PS specific buttons are X, Square, Triangle Circle R2, L2 etc - this is covered in the guide which you can download at Fanatec site for the formula 2.5 wheel

On the DD Pro tile the round wheel is shown with a bunch of drop down menus next to each button

Find each matching button - X to X etc - and set the function that you want

Not all features on the Formula V 2.5 can be set but may be hardwired to a function - only the standard PS set

The toggle switches on the wheel work the huds - left for switching right for function up/down - also same w Funky D-pad button

The two thumb knobs work fuel mix on the left and brake balance on the right - IF they are in use for the car/race you are in

The center knobs are NOT supported in GT7 and can’t be mapped

The analog joystick left/right is view in the flat screen mode

If you add the advance paddle module (APM) then the upper paddles work turn signals and the clutch paddles work clutch or whatever other settings are used by the center knob which van hand brake and throttle or analog axis - these also work left right view

Regarding FW, installing the Driver Package 455 on your PC, open Fanatec control panel

It will show FW version in lower left - these are those for that version - if not open FW manager and check box upper right to downgrade or install
1762118952599.webp

the wheel will show either two digit such as 47 or 1.0.2.0 or similar

455 will include on that starts w 0.9.3 I think - install that one
