Hi Guys

For the last few days I have serious problems with my CSR-E.

After starting the wheel (pushing the power button) the wheel normally starts the auto calibration mode by turning to right, then to left and then to the middle position again - and changing from one blue LED to 3 LED's.

For unknown reasons my wheel stops after turning to the left direction and refuses any further action. Sometimes I can solve the problem by repeatedly pushing the power button - but not always (I give up after about 5 to 10 minutes).

Has anyone experienced these problem before? Any solutions? I wanted to ask you before contacting the Fanatec support. Thanks for any kind of help.

Thanks for the tip. Could somebody please tell me which is the recent firmware for the CSR-E?

I have found 742b ( http://www.911wheel.de/?q=node/8543 ) but it is only for people: "These versions are clearly BETA versions so please install them only if you are an experienced user." And I am not comfortable with beta versions at all.

Here ( http://www.forzalife.de/2012/04/fanatec-csr-csr-elite-firmware-737/ ) I have found a 737, which is dated from April.

So which one is the latest offical firmware for the CSR-E?

Right now I still have firmware 715 installed (updated from the original 707 because of the shifter paddle problems).

I am using 721b firmware, and It's ok. 742b is better but if doesn't start fans to work, so I skipped this one

742b is better in many ways but if you play a lot of Forza, 737 is probably the one to go for.

742b feels lighter and has a large deadzone in force feedback. Works great on PC/PS3 though.

Update!

I have updated the firmware to 737. Unfortunately that has not changed anything about my problem. So now I will contact Fanatec-support.

Fortunately I still have my old Logitech 27 so I can play some GT5 in the meantime.

I have uploaded a video of this problem to Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ng29WBnl14k

Update

Now after more than a month I have a working CSR-E again.

I did contact Fanatec support, sending them all the required information (serial number, video upload, receipt). They answered me that they never had this problem with a CSR-E before and I should send in my wheel so they can analyze it.

OK - I did just that and then waited. After 4 weeks I became impatient and asked what is going on. Seems like the mail from Fanatec didn't reach me. They could not reproduce the failure in the factory. Everything was fine - strange. So they updated the firmware to 750 and did send me the wheel back.

So after one month of playing GT5 and Dirt3 on the PS3 with my old Logitech G25 I finally have my CSR-E again. And this time it is working just fine.
