Fanatec CSR settings

Abs setting on the wheel doesn't have anything to do with using the abs setting in the game.

It simulates the lock up point (or a pressure before it) by vibrating the rim so you don't lock up the brakes. This can be used with or without the abs assist.

I guess I misunderstood how it works. I thought if it was off in game it did'nt register on the wheel. I don't use abs so I always left it off on my wheel and just went with engine vibration. I'll have to mess with it see if I like it better with it on. Thanks for the info.

I used simulation for a while but put back on normal also. I've read that Thomas the C.O.
of fanatec even recomends using normal setting.

Glad to read I'm not alone. I use the Normal setting too, Pro isn't quite right imo.

Did you ever try to turn ABS off and set the settings on the wheel??....
Also how in the world can you drive with 700-900...Im at 280 and it is way touchy

In game: Simulation; ABS, Stability, TCS=Off

Wheel:

SEN: for F-B rank cars: 900; A,S: 720; R3-R1: 540
FF: 100 (turned down in-game now)
SHO: 100
ABS: 65
everything else: 0/Off

I messed around with my settings over the weekend but I found when I put my Sensitivity over 270 the car would rock back and forth going in a straight line. This was my B Class cars and not just one of them cause I thought it might just be the tune.....Any suggestions??

My Settings

Sensitivity=270
FF=80
ABS=40
Everything Else=0

This setup is designed to accurately reflect (as much as possible) the feel of a real road car, especially in countersteering and catching slides.
No. OFF and 270 do the exact same thing. 900 is the way to go.
One thing I've found very effective is the drift mode on the fanatec. It's not so much of a drift mode, as it is an emulator of power steering. Sim steering without drift mode on is not realistic at all. It just takes way too much force to countersteer without drift mode, and you need quite a bit of countersteering to use sim steering. Also, linearity at 10 really helps with responsiveness near the center of the wheel, something which forza lacks big time.

I use sim steering, fanatec gt2 btw.
Sen 900
FF 100
Sho 100
ABS 70
DRI 3
Lin 10
Dea 0
Spr 0
Dpr 0

^ I have mine at 540 sen with lin set at 20 eveything else is the same as yours. I tried using 270 a couple of days ago so many people like it I thought I would give it a go. It much quicker but I think I'm just to use to 540. It's been awhile since I tried 900

I do 720 or 540 for race cars, but for road cars I'm going for realism, so 900 it is.

Thats mostly what I drive are the lower class road cars. I tried 900 when I first got my CSR (had a MS wheel before) so going from 270 to 900 was a big jump all at once for me I think thats why I settled in a 540. I'll have to try 900 again, I'm all for the realism also.I guess in my first post I should have stated that I went back and tried 270 again after using 540 for awhile.

When the game first came out, 900 was messed up; counter-steering was almost impossible. Forza did an update that fixed the problem.

I'm having a hard time in game right now. We just moved and I've finally dug out my CSR and xbox to play Forza4. If I set the Sen to 270, I move the wheel a hair left or right, it fully cranks it. If I put it at 900, which is what I normally use anyways, I turn the wheel maybe 45 degrees and the wheels are fully turned in the direction. I dont' understand what is going on. I know this isn't normal, and I don't remember it being like this a few months ago before I packed everything up.

Can anyone help?

Sen is at 900
FFb is at 70

In game is set to normal or Simulation, either way the wheel is way more sensitive than it should be.

You need to run simulation steering to get full 900 degrees

Oh ok, didn't realize that. So say I wanted to set it to say 820, would I still have to be in simulation setting?

You can run simulation at all times, I don't see why you shouldn't. It drives better 👍

With such a variety of of cars, would it make sense to just have Sens set to off? If its set to off, doesn't the wheel pick up the setting directly from the game itself. Meaning the setting would be different based on the car itself. The challenge I'm having is that I could play around to find a setting that works well with one car (say 900), but feel horrible with another. What's the down side for going this route?
