fanatec gt2/ carrerra fusion question

In short......
Remove gt2 rim from base
Install custom rim with adaptor
Use electronics from wheel rim from my old carrerra to build a button box.

Will it work?

I am thinking of replacing the rim on my gt2 but do not want to destroy my rim in the process.
Are the electronics that are housed inside the carrerra rim compatible with the base of the gt2.
This will allow me to build a button box wired and read by the wheel base as being a stock rim. I would also be able to build a sequential utilizing the paddle wiring from the rim.


The only hang up I see is maybe loosing. Xbox. Functions, but I don't have one anyway and I would assume that function is in the base and not the rim anyway.

I don't know the answer to your question, Caz, but it seems sound. One you know you can proceed, I'd be interested in buying that GT2 rim from you though.

Thanks 12th. If I proceed and decide to sellthe rim it's yours. At the moment, I'm cleaning the room to buipld my rig in. Going to look into it a bit more before I go tearing apart both my wheels lol
