Fanatec GT2 Issues

Hey guys,

I recently purchased 2 x GT2 wheels from Fanatec with a friend and so far they look & feel great, but I cannot get them to work on Ferrari Challenge (PS3) and only really want the wheel for that particular game, maybe GT5 as well.

I'm not really into games much, but did a little research and found these wheels to be one of if not the best for Ferrari Challenge.

The problem I have is making adjustments to the wheel, it is impossible to drive the car without crashnig into things, it doesn't respond well, either too sensitive or not sensitive enough at time, deadzone is either too little or too great etc. It's impossible to get around a circuit without smashing into walls and becoming irritated and giving up and resorting to the PS3 controller.

I feel like it's a waste of money, in Austrlia it's $700 (about US$750). But I think it could be saved so that it is fun to use, which is the reason I purchased it. So I'm looking for nay help on what I am doing wrong, so is my friend, we've $1.5K of equipement that doesn't work and are obviously quite frustrated.

Any help appreciated,

Damian :)

I am sorry to tell you, but the game is crap with a wheel. I have it too and bought it because of the good reviews. GT5 is very very different and the GT2 comes to life with that game.

If you have the chance, you could also check out Forza 3 and Forza 4 in two month from here.

Thanks guys, I really do appreciate you replying with your opinions.

I have tried turning Force Feedback down to 0, it does help, but it is doesn't help precise movements much and it's difficult to stay on the track, let alone enjoy the game/wheel.

I may ybuy GT5 to try to see if it is better, it may be a cheaper solution than to store 2 expensive wheels or fire-sell them cheaply.

The wheels do look & feel great, it's a shame we've had this experience, I wish Fanatec had a list of games the product works well with to avoid this. I will report back with my thoughts after I use GT5 so others can benefit from y feedback.

Thankyou so much again :)

I added deadzone which helped keep the car balanced and pointing straight on the straights, but then it made cornering cumbersome becuase it wasn't precise, particularly as you move across the centre point through chicanes.
