Hey guys, I'm running on a pretty low budget and I want your advice.
I've bought the Fanatec 911 GT3 RS wheel for £90 on ebay which I think was a bargain (note that's £ not $) but I'm stuck on what to do with the pedals and shifter, is the g25 shifter compatible with this or do I have to buy the shifter from the Fanatec shop and also how do the standard Porsche pedals, on the Fanatec site compare with the g25 pedals, I already know that the G25 pedals are compatible with the Fanatec wheel but which ones should I get. If u know of any good and cheap package to go with my 911 GT3 RS wheel I'd appreciate it if u could direct me to them.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. What's the compatibility like for the PS3? I've heard of some system date thing, whats that about?
Thanks, Mahyar

Hello, Mahi, and welcome to GTPlanet. I'm sure you'll find some good information here.

However, please take care to post in complete words with proper capitals and punctuation. It doesn't take any more time, and it really helps maintain the quality of discussion and posting here. Thanks.

Sorry about that, I edited my first message to comply with the rules of the forum.

Well how would you go about obtaining only the pedals and shifter for a g25/27?? Unless you find one by itself on ebay it is not worth the money. Instead you should get some clubsport pedals instead. As for the shifter if you are on pc you can use any shifter you would like I think. Either go for the fanatec cheap-o shifter that works but is definitely got some issues or get the SST lightning, but the price difference is quite noticeable.

I've seen a few pedals and shifters up for sale on ebay so that's how I thought I would get them. Regarding the SST shifter, I would buy it but $199 (£130) is a bit out of my price range. I've been considering buying G25 pedals and shifter but I'm not sure about the compatibility on the PS3 as on the PC you can connect them in separately but I don't think the PS3 can handle that, is there anyway to connect the G25 shifter to the wheel?
Regarding the clubsport pedals, I'm definetely interested in them as they seem like the only hardcore pedals for a wheel, the brake vibrator is something that really caught my eye but I've read in reviews that it's not that noticeable.
It looks like I'll be going for the clubsport pedals unless someone can guide me to a better set of pedals, for the shifter I'm still undecided as I don't have a very big budget and once I buy the clubsport pedals I'll have about £70 left.

I know that if you have the Fanatec adapter you can use the g25/27 pedals with a ps3 and the Fanatec wheel as the pedals are run through the wheel.

I would also like to comment about the Clubsport pedals, specifically the break vibration. I am not sure where you read that it is barley noticeable but that is a bunch of BS... I feel it every time i press the brake hard and it is very noticeable and very very helpful, and makes for a much more real feeling experience. Between that and the load cell brake it really cannot be beat for the price.

I just ordered myself a "perfect pedal" brake set for my g27 pedals and I will see how it compares to the Fanatec load cell but the pedal unit for the brake alone costs more than a set of clubsports so I am not sure it will be worth it but I will report my findings here.

As for shifters I think there are some cheaper pc alternatives available other than the SST lightning. I know ACT labs has a shifter for around $100 I think and A1 has a shifter that is reasonably priced also. No experience with either tho so sorry.

Thanks for the tips, I heard about the clubsport pedals' vibration being weak on:http://www.simhq.com/_technology/technology_044b.html

"However, the vibration that is provided isn't strong enough. I can feel it if I'm specifically expecting it, but in the heat of battle during a race the vibration is all but undetectable, even driving in socks. Fanatec tried a bigger motor to help alleviate this problem, but they say that the problem is really the stiffness of the brake pedal itself; it is so solid that even a bigger motor doesn’t help much to increase the shaking."

I'll also check out the shifters you named but the pedals are a hard choice, the clubsport ones are out of my price range but I really don't want to be missing out. I might buy the standard fanatec pedals or the G25 pedals and then save up and buy the clubsports.

I definitely notice the vibration of the ClubSport brake pedal through my Pumas. Maybe there's a slight variance between examples. Or maybe my feet are just more sensitive.

The CSP are superior and more adjustable than the G25-27 pedals, get them.

I have some G25 pedals as my backup with the pedal mods and load cell mod and I much prefer the CSP.
