Hey guys, I'm going to be replacing my DFGT soon and I plan on getting a Fanatec GT3 RS V2. The only thing holding me back is I'm not sure how well it works with the GT games or if anyone has any experience using it with GT6 yet. I've heard that they can be a bit of a pain to set up because they aren't officially supported wheels.

I guess while I'm here I should also ask if anyone thinks it's a better idea to get the G27? I can get the G27 for $250 and the GT3 with the basic shifter and the CSR elite pedals for $260.

Any feedback is much appreciated!

I reckon the Elite pedals tip the balance in favour of Fanatec.

As for GT6, it should be as simple as knowing that it will register as a G25.

Ive had my GT3 RS for quite awhile and i liked it a whole lot more than my G27, although the paddle placement on the fanatec is quite dumb and make your fingers a little cramped and you also might want to take the cover off for better cooling. But for GT5 it worked just fine and with all the other adjustments you can do on the wheel is what sold me on it. I highly doubt they changed anything and it should work how it did on GT5.

There is currently FFB problem with GT6 on wheels other than t500rs. At least that is what understanding I have for now.

Hi Ironman - I guess Hinkel is also interested in that wheel and would like you to post impressions once you have tried in with GT6 - I could be wrong!

NB I would enjoy reading your impressions.

Re the comment from Raitziger about a problem with FFB on wheels other than T500 - I haven't got my copy of GT6 yet, but I spent a few hours at a friends house playing GT6 on a DFGT and didn't notice any kind of problem. Also my friend has been playing the game a lot since release without a problem.

The discussion was more on how well Fanatec wheels piggy-back on Logitech support within GT6. It's clear that Logitech wheels themselves are performing fine within GT6 (although I am not sure they offer the step up in FFB quality I've been seeing with the T500RS between GT5 and GT6), however it's not entirely clear whether the Fanatec wheels which use G25/G27 compatibility inside GT6 are likewise getting the expected FFB.

Since there are very few forum comments about this, either the problem is very isolated (maybe specific Fanatec firmware) or there are very few Fanatec wheel users currently trying GT6....

(my Fanatec GT2 is boxed up and would be very inconvenient to mount up in order to test, but I am curious)

As soon as I get my GT6 I'll post my findings with my CSR, might even get my GT3RSv2 out of it's box to test.

I'll be looking forward to any impressions you guys may have. I probably won't be getting my wheel for another month so it will be a while before I can test this out for myself.

The CSR works ok, similar to GT3RSv2 in GT5.
(Compared to PC based sims like AC and rF2)
Although I could detect a better physics engine at work, much better feel for the traction.
