So I just got my GT3 RS the other day and I noticed that the rim doesn't seem on as well as the one on my DFGT. It wobbles a little bit and I was wondering if this was just how the wheel was of if it's actually a fault. If anyone has any info I'd love to hear it.

P.S. If anyone has any settings they would recommend for GT6 let me know, I'm still playing around with mine.

Do you mean it wobbles back and fourth on the straight?
Or do you mean it feels like it's not fully tightened to the base?

Hmm, that's not what mine feels like. Does it effect your driving at all?

Not from a strictly mechanical standpoint, but it's odd feeling the wheel bob up and down in my hands.

Edit: I should add that the wheel turns fine and everything, it just doesn't feel secure.

As long as it doesn't effect your driving, I'd think it would be ok. I mean, I couldn't see the wheel falling off or anything bad happening.

A small amount of play in the Porsche wheel steering shaft is apparently "by design" as long as it's happening right at the back of the shaft deep in the body. I assume it's how the shaft is attached to the metal body inside the wheel housing. It shouldn't affect accuracy.

My GT2 has a few degrees of play horizontally but almost none vertically. At first I found it disconcerting (since my G25 and DFGT have no play) but I got used to it. Steering one handed while H-shifting is perfectly possible.

Mine had to go back for a codewheel sensor replacement when brand new, and they confirmed that the steering column play was normal and nothing to worry about.

I can't believe people can live with that much movement, now I know not to get GT2 or GT3.

That sounds weird. Like you're missing a bushing or bearing or some kind of support for the wheel.

I had 4 fail or arrive defective in 1 year...
...before I upgraded to CSRE/CSW.
I'll leave the rest to your imagination.

On T500 now for 11 months, no motor failure. :)
I don't have an Alcantara fetish so very tolerable. :sly:

@ OP: Seems like too much movement from what I can recall.

Well, I know that when I used the terrible clamp that comes with the Porsche style wheels, the forwards/backwards movement was very detrimental to the suspension of disbelief. What is being described is not acceptable, and a fix or replacement is required.

@OP: It sounds like it's too much movement to be normal. I have the same wheel.

The creak may well be normal. There are wires wrapped in soft plastic tubing that rotate as the wheel is turned. The type of material used can very easily give off a creaky kind of sound.

I don't really know if it's normal or not but I don't like it. Between that and the wobble the wheel feels like it's seen hundreds of hours of play, not the 5 or 6 it's actually seen.

Update! So the wheel is most certainly broken...It made some awful cracking noise while I was using it today and now whenever I turn left the rim pops forward. So things are going well. Anyone seen any good sales on the T500?
