I just received my GT3 RS V2 wheel today along with the Clubsport table clamp and love it. However, the top-left internal screw on the right-hand paddle shifter came lose somehow as I was screwing in the paddle shifter. As a result, there is now a screw rattling around inside my wheel whenever I turn the wheel in any direction. It also sometimes gets caught behind the right-hand paddle shifter itself, thereby preventing me from pushing it down.

My question, then, is does anyone know if I can remove the right-hand paddle shifter button to re-attach the internal screw without needing to send the entire wheel back to Fanatec? I just e-mailed Fanatec but still wanted to ask you guys in case there was an easy way to fix this problem.

Thanks for the help!

Hi all,

I just read through the GT3 RS V1 to V2 upgrade guide. Apparently, I can easily pop-off the front of the wheel, remove the PCB, and access the back of the paddle shifters.

If I do this, will I void my wheel's warranty? That's my only concern at this point. Thanks.

I doubt it, especially if you're not breaking any seals or soldering on the boards or anything. Basically, if they can't tell you were even in there, you should be okay. HOWever, I don't work for Fanatec or anything, so it's certainly an "at your own risk" kinda maneuver.

Gunster,

Thanks for the advice. I agree since I would not be doing anything that will reveal I had opened up my wheel.

Well, I think I'll do it "at my own risk" this afternoon as it's only a single screw I need to put back in place behind the PCB. Shouldn't be too hard to do (fingers-crossed).

BTW Gunster, do you own a Fanatec wheel? How has it treated you? Are these defects common / an indication that I could have future issues with my wheel or have you been pleased overall with the quality of your wheel?
