Is anyone else having an issue with their GT3RS V1? Worked fine in GT5:P and when the wheel is acting as controller 1, the wheel works as a controller when it is NOT in compatibility mode. When a race is started, the wheel does not control the car at all in either mode. This is with CSPs as well.

Does anyone know anything about this? I have looked around but everything is about the V2 that I have seen. Thanks in advance!

I've been looking for a solution to the same issue. The wheel works perfectly with Prologue, and I was so excited to finally be able to play GT5 today, but now I am only disappointed. I updated the game to 1.01 and still no luck. Hopefully someone will have a solution.

Same issue here. I ordered the V2 upgrade kit, but looks like I won't get for at least a couple of weeks. (according to Thomas it will be shipped from China to distributors this week).
This sucks; I'll just play arcade mode with the controller for the moment.

I have a Fanatec GT3 RS with clubsports pedals, NOT the v2. If I am not mistaken, the V2 came out only this July and it seems like you need V2 to work with GT5... what?

Apparently, only the new versions of Fanatec wheels are supported, this is very weird and VERY frustrating. My wheel is only a year old, it works with GT5 Prologue, with Dirt 2, F1 2010 and so on... Why on earth would GT5 not allow the PS3 mode that usually emulated the G25 without issue?

I get in the game with the wheel as controller 1, it goes in PC mode, I can navigate menus and had fun withe that creating my profile, buying a car and all. Then when you get to the racing, sh..t no response from any button or pedals. I tried toh PS3 mode and get nothing out of the wheel. Just imagine I had to do a race using a dualshock controller, sitting in my playseat!!!

I have no idea if we must blame Fanatec or the game itself but I just can't understand how a game that is supposed to be the best simulator cannot support a wheel that is one of the best to play PS3 games? F1 2010 supports this wheel perfectly!

Why would I have to ship the wheel, get it upgraded to V2, play for a few months, ship it back next summer to upgrade to V3??? This just doesn't make sense it my mind and I am sorry but I am frustrated...

(I posted the same message in the Gran Turismo Playstation board. Sorry if you read both, I just want this fixed like you)

Same issue here. I initially couldn't use the wheel at all. Then I switched it to be controller 1, and then I could use it for menus.

Still nothing so far as actual driving, though. I bought this wheel specifically with GT5 in mind, so I'm very disappointed. It worked in Prologue, so what reason could there be for it not to work in GT5?

The irony is that if I decided to save a few bucks and buy the Logitec G27 instead, GT5 release day would have been a whole lot happier for me.

It seems Logitech is the official wheel brand of Gran Turismo, so they're probably the safest bet. Not sure who's fault it is. It might be combination of factors from both sides.

My guess is Fanatec advertised the GT3 RS v1 wheel as PS3 compatible when it was released because it worked with known games at the time. Then time wore on and some incompatibilities surfaced, hence the need for a v2 edition. I have the Porsche 911 Turbo S, which I can confirm works just fine with everything I've thrown at it. The GT3 RS v2 is based on the same firmware. These new wheels also have upgradeable firmware, so that may be Fanatec's way of planning for the future.

On the one hand, I love smaller firms like Fanatec, who make upgradeable wheels (firmware and parts). It's why I switched to a Fanatec. That's something Logitech would never do.

On the other hand, I appreciate the frustration of dealing with a smaller firm too. Older wheels lack compatibility, and sometimes support can be slow to respond. Logitech is pretty huge and established and run like a well-oiled machine these days. They also get official support from devs, whereas it sounds like Fanatec has to figure a lot of things out on their own.

I think turbo s wheel was the only fully supported wheel for PS3 at first. They said that GT3 RS works with most of the games but full support is not guaranteed. Clearly problem is not with Fanatec it is with GT5.(as it works with some games)

I tend to agree that the problem is with GT5. The Gt3 RS V1 has a PS3 mode that emulates the G25 on every other racing games I have. It seems like Polyphony Digital disabled this support on purpose... The wheel works perfectly in Codemasters games, it's not like there are hundreds of wheels out there, serious ones I mean. GT5 should be able to try the wheels and make sure they are supported. I just can't say it is a racing simulator when I must use a Dualshock to do a race and stare at my unsuported cockpit.

We did but they knew that we did not advertise it as a Playstation wheel. But at least you can buy an upgrade kit and get many more features on top of full compatibility.

Thanks Fanatec. It does prove that you are doing something about it. I would appreciate if Polyphony Digital actually cared as much as you do and could think of supporting a few more wheels, considering it's supposed to be the best racing simulator out there.

I'll probably order the upgrade I guess but I'm still hoping there is a simpler fix possible.

Have anyone received notice that the upgrade kit has been shipped?
Getting frustated for not being able to play GT5 with a wheel.

nope.. I got this...

"Dear customer,

thanks a lot for your order and the pre-payment.

We would like to inform you that we will start with the first shipments of the upgrade kits as soon as possible.

Therefore we would like to ask you for some more patience.

Please give up your additional inquiries about the estimated shipping date as we are already overloaded with e-mails.

We will inform you in time about the dispatch.

Thanks for your assistance and understanding in advance."

Now the sarcastic side of me.. reads this as:

Thanks for your cash.. we still don't know when we will be able to deliver what you ordered but we will deliver it at some point. don't bother asking us for any more information regarding when we think it will ship (cause were as in the dark as you!) just wait untill you get your dispatched email..

thanks sucker... :sly:

the other side of me says.. perhaps I'm reading to much into this email, what with English not being there first language and all that, perhaps something got lost in the translation..

Thomas, if your reading this I love your products dearly mate, I love your ability to upgrade the products introducing new features and implementing bug fixes.. it's unique in the Industry from what I can see at this price point.

however I'm not sure that this email tells me anything.. so what's the point of the email message, in effect all you've done is acknowledge my order weeks after I placed it, and months after I emailed my intention to place the order.

I understand that you've posted updates on your blog, but if I didn't know about that.. I'd be wondering what was happening and bombarding you with emails as indicated in your company's email to me..!

perhaps when folks order, more information should be emailed regarding progress or delays to those who've placed orders rather than relying on the blog to communicate delays.

this is frustrating in the extreme.

Got the same email but it really does not tell us much.
I preorder it back in June; it was supposed to be my birthday present. Now I wish it will be on time to be my Christmas present.

Got this wheel today and this sucks so bad but way are foks in rewies playing with this without no problem?

Compatibility issues (GranTurismo 5: Prologue, Need for Speed, Midnight Club)
It is required that you set back the system date of your Playstation®3 to any date before 22.12.2008. We recommend to change only the year. what i found on there site but dosent work but updating my ps3 hoping that work

Dude, you gotta learn to use the edit post button. Thus needs to be nipped in the butt before a mod tells you.
