Fanatec Pedals V3 Problem (I am clueless)

I am pretty clueless with figuring this stuff out. (I couldn't use my wheel for 4 days cause it was on Xbox one mode and I didn't know). Once I got my wheel working and wheel and shifter calibrated, in the menu the pedal bars didn't go up when I pressed them. I dismounted the pedals and used the USB cable to my PC and they worked fine. I connected them back to my base and they failed to work again. I have just downloaded the drivers and firmware and configured the Wheel and Pedals.

Don't think a mistake so simple and obvious couldn't be a possibility because I could probably manage to do it.

Thanks

Can you get the pedals to work on PC with the pedals plugged into the wheel base?

Copied from your other thread:
When I got it I assembled it and downloaded the drivers but I accidentally had the cable that goes to the pedals in the ebrake spot. I did not notice and tried to plug it into my Xbox to see if it would work. Then I realized my error and fixed it. I then reinstalled the drivers. I have tried reinstalling multiple times and restarting my computer but nothing has worked. Thank you for your help.

Maybe take the ebrake out of the equation for now, see if that helps any.

Also check to make sure that when you switched the way the pedals were plugged in that you used the correct output on the pedal end, IIRC there is one for the wheel direct connection and one for the stand alone PC connection.
EDIT:yep look here for the layout of the connections

Sorry it has taken me so long to respond. The pedals work on pc plugged directly into my PC. not w/ the wheel. I have not yet plugged my ebrake in and I have the cord plugged into the correct output. Thanks

So just to be clear, you do switch the output on the pedals when you plug them into the wheel directly? You have it hooked up right for now, but when you switch from stand alone to direct to the wheel you have to change ports on the pedals too.
sorry for the repetitive question

Also the drivers you re-installed a bunch, was that for the wheel base or pedals? the pedals have firmware too, so if it wasn't the pedals that you updated, then update them.

It could all come from a faulty cable too, is there another you could try?

Here's what Fanatec says you should do to troubleshoot (on page 34 of the pdf)

I had the cord plugged into the wheel output. Unless there is some switch on the pedals which I somehow missed in the manual or noticing it on it, I'm pretty sure it is good. I downloaded the firmware for the wheel and pedals when I first had them plugged in but they seem to be the same thing. When I had the pedals plugged directly into my PC, I downloaded the firmware to my pedals and tried plugging them back into my wheel (w/ the correct output) but it still didn't work.

I did try another cable and had no success. Could it be that the output or input are faulty?

Thank you for the help and quick responses.

Theres no switch for the pedals, and I suppose a bad output would explain something like this, but I'm not sure because these Fanatec wheels are so complex compared to others, so many settings and all the firmware stuff. I just put together a Fanatec setup and it was a pain in the butt so I feel your pain.

When you test the pedals are you doing it in game or in the game controller properties menu on PC?
I ask because when you go into the game controller properties for the wheel and pedals they display differently depending on whether its hooked straight to the wheel or in stand alone mode (to the PC). In stand alone mode the pedals get their own properties page, but when hooked straight to the wheel the pedals are found on the wheel page.

The pedals do not respond to ingame tests or to the properties page. When I have them plugged into my wheel they do not have their own page. Sorry for the late response and thank you for the help again.

Well I'm out of ideas, sorry. Hopefully Fanatec will help you out, did they ever respond?

Did you plug in them to the correct port (there are multiple data/shifter ports and it's easy to mix them up) on the wheel?

Did you unplug USB first? (I read that some people plugged plugged both ports and that messed up the pedals)

I have them in the right port and don't have the usb also connected

You might try contacting Fanatec support, I did last night and they got back to me before I even got up this morning. They will ask for video or pics btw.
