Hi all, currently I have a DFGT. It works great, but I'm thinking about getting a second wheel so I can do split screen with my kids. As it is right now my daughter and I are always fighting over who gets to play. I would like to keep the cost down as the economy is cutting our christmas short this year:grumpy: Anyways, I really would like to have two different wheels and the fanatec Porsche 911 carrera wheel looks great as another companion to my GT5. It kinda surprises me how little it costs compared to the G27. About half and it comes with a 6 speed shifter and clutch! What has been your experience with this wheel and GT5. Does it play well? All the buttons work well? Thanks for all the info in advance!

Personally, I prefer the G27 over the Fanatec wheels. They feel better to me, and I think they look better as well.

With that being said, Fanatec makes good wheels, and their Clubsport pedals are top of the line. If you get a Fanatec you'll need to set it up to work properly with GT5 which is pretty easy. I'm speaking about a 911 GT3 RS V2 wheel, by the way.

I have the Fanatec Porsche S wheel and its AWESOME! All the buttons are right there and work well. But it is still easier to grab the DS3 when i just want to browse through the menu.

The feel of the wheel is great, i love the thick leather wrapped rim. Its VERY smooth and not noisy/notchy like my old DFPro. No deadzone! Adjustable settings directly on the wheel too! I got mine about a year ago after a 6 months wait to play forza 3 and it was worth it!

I agree with fasternfaster, I also have a Turbo S with clubsport pedals and it's great to set the wheel the way you want, for example for the rally tracks I have my wheel set with 510 degrees, that way I can recover faster from getting sideways never loosing control. I have yet to try drift but I believe I will use 510 or less.
I heard somewhere one of the fanatec wheels wasn't compatible with GT5, so you should try to see if the one you're buying is compatible.

GT5 works very well with the 911 Carrera, according to what I've read so far. :D

Carrera wheel should be great, though bear in mind that it has gear driven FFB vs the smooth belt drive of the wheels mentioned above.

i need help getting my clutch to work it is on sometimes and off others im not sure how to figure it out so far does anyone know how to work the clutch on the 911 carrera on gt5
