I just received my GT 2 and clubsports today so granted I haven't had a lot of time to mess with them. I did do 5 or 6 races on GT5 with them and different cars. For some reason I'm not getting much force feedback compared to my logitech DFGT. The wheel itself fells nice and solid. Nice and stiff when turning it. But I don't feel a thing when I go over rumble strips and hardly feel it when I go off the road. And just going down the track with the DFGT I remember getting some shaking from imperfections in the road.. I have the forced feeeback set to 10 in then game and 100 on the wheel.

Another problem is when the fan comes on it sounds like it is hitting something for a few seconds.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you

10 is too much ingame (max 5 ). I use 3. Problem is that when FF is too high from the game, input signal hits some internal limiter in fanatec and then all small things are lost in FFB. Fanatec fans can sound loud. I would post a video to youtube if you want an opinion about that.

Yeah Raitziger is right. It's weird but anyways I was using 10 in-game as my FFB setting and my wheel would heat up fast, I lowered it to 5 and it feels just as strong and doesn't heat up as fast.

Have you tried your DFGT in GT5 or in only GT5P? GT5 IMO has decent FFB feel for weight shifting but things like rumble strips and really rough stuff doesn't come through. F1 2010 had great FFB for rumble strips and iRacing really let you feel the bumps in the road plus the weight shifting even more than GT5.

It might just be because the stiffness of the GT2 is so much higher than your DFGT that you don't notice the feedback as much? Do you have other games that you can try? Maybe even demos?

BTW, for the noise, I have the same issue with my Turbo S it started happening a few weeks after I got it (maybe even a month?). It's really annoying, I made a video on my phone to send to Fanatec but I haven't had the chance yet. You might want to do the same, I don't know what it is that's causing it. I might just replace the fan myself if Fanatec confirms that that is the issue.

Ok, thanks I will try lowering that setting. I set it that high because that's what they showed in the video on simracing website. I guess they didn't fully test it.

I do have F1 2010 that I played once since I bought it since GT5 came out pretty quickly after I bought it so I will try it and see if I feel more of the road. Maybe it is just a game thing.

In regards to the noise that sounds like the fan is hitting something, I noticed last night that it happens after hard contact to the wall that really shakes the wheel. Not sure if it is the fan or something else that is being caused by strong FF. I understand the fan may be loud but this sounds different and goes away a few seconds after the impact. Sounds almost like a belt is slapping against the plastic housing.(I know, don't hit the wall)

One other thing I noticed and I wonder if it is normal. If I have the ABS settings on in the wheel to get the vibration in the pedal when braking hard I lose the vibration in the wheel from the motor. If ABS is off I can feel the wheel vibrate changing with motor RPM's. If I turn ABS on, at any level, I lose all the vibration to the wheel from the motor. Is this normal?

Would one of you mind posting your wheel settings for GT5?

Thank you

Thank you. I will try that when I get home from work. Looks like my in game setting is the problem. I just assumed the video on the simracing website would be accurate as that is what they do. Teaches me to assume.

Does the other in game setting matter? Professional or Simulation?

Did you guys do any adjusting to your clubsports if you have them?

In-Game - 9
Wheel - 60/70 :sly:
Shock - 80 & ABS 88 :sly:
or
Shock - 30 & ABS off :)
Drift - off (a few cars with 001) 💡
These settings eliminate any (slight) stuttery/juddery ffb while cornering and result in SMOOOOOOTHH driving. :sly::sly:
For me it works great and you could use it as a starting point at least and then fine tune it to your preference/liking. :sly:

Well my noise issue is a bit different because it doesn't occur when hitting the wall, only after the wheel has finished it's startup and only for about 10 seconds or so. It sounds a bit like the fan is stuck on something, not really sure if it's the same as your issue then (it sounds similar though).

The ABS/wheel vibration thing is normal. You have to choose one or the other :(.

As for settings, in-game I use:
Steering Type: Simulation
Power-Assisted Steering: Off
Feedback Strength: 5

Wheel settings:
Sen: 900
FF: 100
Sho: 000
dri: OFF
ABS: OFF
Lin: 000
DEA: 000

I don't know if simulation makes any difference because it highlights the three older Logitech wheels whereas power-assist and strength highlights the two newer wheels. This leads me to believe they are wheel specific settings (Fanatec and Logitech G series falling under the new category) but I never tried steering type on anything else.

Is this the sound you're getting:
