So I just realized last evening that something is up. In GT 5 half the time my shifter will work the rest of the time it will be stuck in nuetral or in whatever gear it was in last. At first I thought maybe the shifter wasn't making the contacts correctly. However I loaded up GTR 2 last night and never missed a shift. Everything was on point and where it should've been. This leads me to believe that there maybe a software issue/driver issue in regards to GT5. Anyone else experience these issues? Of course the idea came into my head that it might've been me. So I watched my son play and he had the same issues. The paddle shifters work great but its not as exciting.

it's the game. There's no powershifting in GT5 so you need to make sure there is zero gas pedal input and then make sure the clutch is all the way depressed when making your shift.

I had a lot of problems with the shifter. Lots of missed shifts and awkward engagements. So much so that Ive pretty much put them away until the clubsport shifter is released or I do some major mods beyond the silent mod. I havent done any indepth testing though when I get my rig back together I may do that. Initially the shifting just felt unnatural and flimsy. The silent mod sorta helped but the shifter still felt clumsy and unnecessarily difficult to navigate the gear channels. I dont particularly recall any issue with the clutch pedal aside from having to granny shift. Power shifting doesnt seem to be supported though I havent tried with the latest update.
