Hey everyone,

as some of you may know, im still looking for a 6 speed and sequential shifter for my GT3 RS V2.

Fanatec wont ship them because they are sold out plus no one in my region has one that i know of, so im hoping that some EU members here perhaps have one or a spare set that they are willing to sell/trade.

Im posting this here because the trading section is pretty dead

Thanks

Chris

I'm afraid I don't, but I'd thought I'd post to say that they should be shipping them out again at the end of the month. My Carrera wheel arrived on 28/02/2011 and I wasn't expecting this untill April, so you never know!

Also worth remembering that the Clubsport Shifter is due in the autumn so it might be worth holding off untill then if you can.

I'd wait for the CSS, you'll want it as soon as you hear the standard shifter clicking away ugh!

thanks for the replies,

i emailed fanatec and they told me that the shifter set will be ready top ship again end of march!

I heard about the clubsport shifter set but i really need a shifter, driving with the paddles is great too but nothing gets the feel of actually shifting through the gears...

Guess im gonna order mine now and order some Clubsport shifters when they release.

Btw, anyone has any info yet on how much the new shifters might costs?

Thanks

Chris

Chris,

I was going to offer my set to you, but since they are stocking up in a few weeks, I would not worry too much about it.

My replacement set is arriving today. So I have an extra set, but the H-gate is not working properly. I took it apart and soldered it a bit, it worked great for about 2 hours then crapped out on me. 4th is not to reactive, and 2nd shows up as reverse LOL.

Also I am in the states mate, so it would cost more to ship then for you to get a new one. BUT, if anyone would like this as a work-on set, ill sell them for cheap and ship em out.

As for price on the CSS, about 100-125Euro, 110-140US, then VAT for EU. It might be a bit more to be honest. This is what Thomas was saying about price. But if you get what you pay for, I see these being about +-150EU/US. Slated release is September/October.

Also there will be a clubsport handbrake releasing around the same time for drifters/dirt.

I hope this helps you out Chris, and for anyone interested in the shifters, Message me.

I would agree that the CSS seems to be worth waiting for, although I quite like the standard h shifter! It does click but I got used that fairly quickly. I know Fanatec where aiming at the $100 mark. I don't know if that includes tax etc but shipping is EUR17 for us in the UK.

I'm also trying to find an h-shifter, Mike is that Lincoln, nebraska? Just wondering if there's end of march shipping confirmation for the US as well.

I asked Thomas (fanatec... on here) if there was any way to get the shifter before may(bc that's what's on the site) and he told me that there wasn't any way :( Although my question was more along the lines of looking for a retailer rather than shipping.

No, Lincoln UK. Have no idea about us release, but if you email them using the form on the site (web shop) they might be able to give you some confirmation on US shipping dates.

Think again.

Fanatec QC strikes again.

I got an email about an hour ago stating my December ordered and paid for shifter has arrived and is being shipped

Good news right?

LOL - it would be excpet Ijust got THIS email 5 minutes ago:

Dear customer,

we would like to inform you that we have a received a new incoming shipment of the Porsche wheel shifter set at our American warehouse and that we will expect further units this week.

Unfortunately we detected that some of these shifters have a quality problem because some lubricant is leaking out of the shifter housing.

As a new replacement shipment will take several weeks and as you have already waited such a long time for your pre-ordered shifter set we decided to send out the current shifter set inventory despite the known issue.

If your received shifter will be affected by this matter, of course you will get a replacement shifter as soon as new goods are available again.

In such a case please contact us. Here is the link:

At least they are forwarning about quality issues ahead of time, but FFS man - I have to wait close to 4 months for an over priced toy that is backed by a company with HUGE customer relationship issues and now the LAST piece fo the puzzle is probably going to be fraught with problems yet again? You would think after they have had issues for 2+ years they mgiht CHECK their goods before it ships form China.

Boy do I regret p!$$ing away $500 on the GT2 + CSP's and AWOL shifter.

Darn... okay thanks man.

@RC

Great, I get my first replacement set today for the set I got 3 weeks ago that did the same fuc*ing thing mate. So I now have alerted the shipper in CA about this, and will ask Claudia tomorrow about this. If this is the case, I expect ANOTHER set of replacements for the 2 sets of bunk shifters. GAAAHHHHHHH!!!!

LOL

So you got a shifter that was faulty that was replaced by a new shifter from a shipment of faulty shifters that was ordered to backfill a bunch of faulty shifters?

It is like the Three Stooges :scared:

You are spot on. I swear this set better be good. I even built a permanent nut & bolt clamp so it does not move when I shift. So I know it cannot be from horsing it around if they were on the stock poles. I take extreme care of my electronics.

Edit:Also, the first set, I could NEVER get to calibrate, I got through 6th gear, and then lost all power to the wheel. It was still on, but I could not make it do anything. So I would have to turn it off and on again, hence not having a properly calibrated shifter. Who knows......

Poke in the eye from Mo btw.

thanks for the offer though, but i would like a properly working H pattern

I see, i still haven't placed my order but i am 95% sure that im gonna buy the std shifter set since its only like 66 Euros anyways.

One more question though.

Can anyone tell me if i could connect my G25 shifter to the fanatec for PC use?
Since im on iRacing alot, that would be great!

Chris

Today i receive the Porsche wheel Shifter set and calibrate. But NO working....i change speeds but is always stays in neutral position. The sequential shifter only upload speeds not download.
I am very disappointed....

I sent email to support ....

Sorry to hear that Jim.

Don't want to worry you but when buying multiple units and connecting then together. How can you be sure the fault doesn't lie with the wheel.

Something I've wondered about my wheel. I've never tried a shifter but could my wheel not recognise it?

So frustrating to read that Fanatec still havnt sorted their issues yet.

I think Thomas is a great guy and the products in general are good, (never a fan of the shifters myself) but every Fanatec product I have owned (5) if it didnt have a fault developed one eventually (some small but still faults). From a personal view its stressing but annoying reading things arnt improving. Yes they will sort and fix problems (eventually) but with reading of others with similar problems I hope things do improve for them.

Maybe Im cursed, however I dont hold out much faith in things changing anytime too soon. Nor do I believe the CSS will arrive before the Thrustmaster one and even then will the CSS be problem free and not have the same shipping/production delays that Fanatec always seem to have?

Whats worse is when you pay up front and have to wait so long just compounds peoples frustration.

Hope you guys get sorted

Hmm that's tricky Jim.

Would it be possible just to get a longer cable and connect to the left but use it on the right?

Not ideal I know, but think of the hassle sending back.

Not sure what I would do but I'd probably end up living with it.

Atleast you haven't wasted time sending back a set of working shifters.

Wonder if mine works?
