Fairly new to the forum, but I have searched around and could not find an answer to this problem. I recently acquired a Fanatec CSR wheel, CSR shifter set and CSR Elite pedals. I have been playing GT6 for about a month now with no problems.

However, I was playing today and out of nowhere, things started "messing up." The biggest issue is that even though I am on manual transmission, the cars keep shifting into 5th gear on their own. Even when coming into a turn and I apply the brake + downshift to 3rd or 2nd, the car will upshift itself into 5th.

I have tried powering off the wheel, disconnecting/reconnecting all cables, including the power cable and the controller cable into my PS3, I "reset" the wheel settings by holding down the tuning button, etc. Nothing has worked!

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Have you tried recalibrating the shifter with "Menu Button+Start"?

Last time I had a similar issue. Sometimes going into fourth the CSS SQ would shift into 2nd. Which is worse than 5th as you risk engine damage in top quality sims on PC.

Sorry to ask such a dumb question, but which button is the "Menu" button? The only reset I tried was holding down the "Tune" button which caused the display on the wheel to read "rsr"

The little tuning menu button for the display.

See the video above as an example. ;)

The methods in the video seemed to have worked for me. Thanks!
Well, I at least THOUGHT that the methods worked for me. While the car no longer automatically shifts itself into 5th gear, it now shifts itself into Reverse whenever I try to downshift into 2nd... I tried calibrating the shifter again via the methods provided in the video posted, but it did not solve the problem.
