Found some interesting info today:

I discovered this small company called CronusMax who make an adapter device that allows cross platform usage of popular controllers across popular consoles. This device allows for example to use an Xbox360 controller on a PS3 for example. They've already implemented and demonstrated via video an XBONE using PS3, 360 & PS4 controllers as well as mouse and keyboard support.

Through research on their forums a popular question has been steering wheel use on the XBONE. Nothing is done as of yet but the developers have two wheels on their "to do list" to be supported by their device on the XBONE.....the Logitech G27 and the Fanatec CSR.

If they will support the G27, the CSW will work too on the xbox one.

It might work for the inputs, but i doubt that we will ever have force feedback.

Agreed - there would be no force feedback and since the device will not have the Microsoft security chip it could not work.

I'll reserve judgement until something further develops on their end as I'm no expert whatsoever on the in and outs of coding.

With that said though if the latter part of your statement was true than how do you explain them being able to get a PS3, PS4 and 360 controller to work on an XBOX ONE because they're doing it so obviously they've gotten around the whole Microsoft security chip issue.

First of all they need to go through a controller so that the console detects that there is an official device connected.
but then Microsoft will eventually detect that there is a unofficial device code in the system and with the next dashboard update these devices no longer work.
these devices simply try to emulate a controller and create more lag than anything else.
there are so many of these devices on the market such as from XCM and others and they end up not working.
If a device is not officially supported by Microsoft it will be detected eventually and will be banned

Haven't been on gtp for a while but this post caught my eye.
I already bought this cronusmax device in December and tested it on xbox one with forza 5.
all I can say it does work but then again it doesn't work as well as it did on xbox360. Heres some of the thing that don't work, steering rotation only works at 270-360 (with bad deadzone) when cars are in motion anything higher is a bust, clutch pedal is only readable as X +axsis on RS (right stick) and u can't remap the button in game , 6 speed shifter isn't readable at all, sequential / paddle shifter on works if you remap the gear shifts to LB & RB in game. we'll just have to wait till ControllerMax (they change the brands name) to get full support for fanatic wheels. but if you have a g25/g27 there hope for you on xbox one

I own a maxrace f1 v4..... Its great to have a wheel on xbox one.

cons-
It doesn't really have feedback, more of a rumble during gear changes and crashes.

pros-
All the features work..... H pattern, sequential, paddle clutch etc..
It even allocates home and menu buttons
Shifting is selectable by holding down a button
Resistance, sensitivity are adjustable
There is no lag
I get to use my G25 on my xbox one.

I would recommend it.

May as well use a Wiimote as a steering wheel it sounds like  Hey M$ if you want one more XBox One sale, let us use 360 wheels!

From Fanatec's standpoint here is how I saw this play out.

Thomas has been silent for nearly a year. Dale Earnhardt Jr. purchases a CSW. Tweets about it. Now Thomas is back in the game trying to be the sleeky guru marketing salesman. Then we get the political statement in regards to the Xbone at the same time........... This is all BS. There is way more to this story than Thomas wants to tell or divulge. Heck, watch the ISR video on Turn 10 as of late.

While Thomas says we KNEW that the wheels would not be compatible with future consoles(which is partly true), then why would we spend hundreds to thousand to be left out in the dust for the new generation on consoles? That is 110% manure. Pay your bill, you get compatibility. Plain and simple. Xbox expects the manufacturer to come to them, not the other way around. The CSR Elite is the glaring mark on all of this.

The only thing I like out of this is the Stock car rim for the CSW. Definitely a buy for me. I feel the pain that many are having with the CSR Elite and non-compatibility to xbone. Not fair or right, imho.
