I actually just noticed this today, that when I'm flat out on the throttle, and watching the throttle input bar in GT5, it regularly bounces between 95-100%. No I'm not hitting the rev limiter. I noticed this while driving an 07 Mini and then switched to the Mugen Mutol Civic 87 and it did the same thing.

I then disconnected the wheel, and used the controller just to see if it was just how the game was, and it is not. It does not do this with the controller. I can also actually very smoothly apply part throttle by watching the bar with the controller. When I use the wheel, it also bounces up and down a bit even when applying part throttle.

Has anyone noticed this or is it just me?

I'm using the standard pedals with the Carrera wheel.

Im using the standard pedals with the PWTS wheel myself, and i've noticed recently that the brakes have been engaging on their own. Perhaps this lack of hardware dead zone isn't the best idea?

It really annoys me that manufacturers have been making weak pedals for years! My old logitech wheels all eventually developed this problem. I finally started to baby them and use socks or bare feet only on the pedals.. It has worked but we should not have to do that. Dead zone settings via firmware or on GT5 would help solve this problem.

My old Logitech used to do the same, I oppened the pedals, cleaned everything and it helped, but eventually it came back...

My Clubsports work fine and I do check the telemetry to make sure everything works fine. Benefit of not having pots that wear out over time

Ya, it does look like the only solution to wear and tear is to buy those amazing 200 dollar rensport pedals.. O.o They do look pretty enticing.

I got mine when they were on sale for $150. So glad I jumped on them to replace the G25 pedals I was using.

Worn out...I've only had this wheel/pedal set a month.

I emailed Fanatec, and found a thread over on fanatecwheel.com with others reporting the same. Maybe it's just a firmware thing who knows.

i read something about the Pentometers growing loose or popping out of place in some default pedal sets, perhaps you need to epoxy yours back in place.

I have different problem. My gas pedal on PWC is constantly pressed at about 10%. Any ideas how to fix this?

I absolutely have the same problem. It's really annoying and makes licenses impossible to do, you loose enough time that it matters. I've found if you un plug the pedal cable and re insert it gies away, sometimes. But it always come back. It's really frustrating.

I'm out of town right now, but when I return I will have to contact fanatec. It's a shame to have such an amazing wheel and have such cheap pedals. If they offer me an cheap upgrade the clubsport pedals I'd happly accept.

Try searching some of my latest post to what I post about the situation.

Support at Fanatec has been very responsive and understanding to my problem and have sent me out a replacement!

They did offer to upgrade me to clubsports with a discount (minus the cost of standard pedals), but I passed on that. But it was nice of them to offer.

Same effect here with my 2 weeks old pedals. Throttle bouncing at 90-100% and I got an annoying auto-breaking effect, from time to time breaks pop up very slightly. And my max. breaking power is at 70% now.
It's just very, very disappointing.

Wow. That is great news. Can you tell me the exact steps you did as far as contacting them and what info you gave. I want to make sure I get the same treatment. Do you have to send the faulty one back?

Odd we live in the same area and had the same problem.

How long did it take to get a respond from them? I sent them email on Sunday with everything included and still nothing :indiff:

It should be noted that when a car in its top gear hits the rev limiter, it will drop down a few thousand RPM while going flat out and then build up again thus the bouncing.

I came across this while driving an r8 on an oval. I adjusted the gear ratio for more top end and it got to a point where the r8 could not overcome the air resistance to hit the rev limit and bounce but yet go flat out.

I accidentally just looked up my original order confirmation email and responded to that email address.

I received a message to fill out the support online form on fanatec.com.

Then surprisingly a representative of Fanatec jumped in, and said he already can tell by my problem description that I would need a new pedal set, and to mention that in the form. Be as detailed as possible when describing your problem...you may even need to include a vid clip (i did not).

I copy and pasted my original problem, and response in the form, and got a message back to confirm either replacement pedals or upgrade to clubsports for discounted fee.

Between each communication, they would respond to me within 1 business day. :)

Mine was 1 business day response. However I think it may get routed differently depending on what country you are in. My issues seemed to be address from the US office.

I filled out that form from Fanatec.com. Still have had no response yet, but its only been 2 days. Hoping for a quicker resolution, my pedals are almost worthless at this point. And with the GT Academy coming up... Running out of time.

Same happened to me today, a representative asked me if I want a new standard pedal set or want to upgrade to discounted clubsport pedals.

Thumbs up for Fanatecs nice & quick support :)

I sent them 2 emails about my pedals problem one two weeks and second almost a week ago.. still nothing :yuck:

EDIT: withdrawn, Thomas responded immediately :)

What email did you send them to? I havent heard back anything. I want an upgrade to the Clubsport pedals, I want to give them money for them. I just cant get a response. Been 4 days. I have broken pedals and just want them replaced, or upgraded.

Update;

All is well. Fanatec contacted me and offered and upgrade to the CSP. Which I gladly accepted. Now lets hope they dont go on sale soon, otherwise I just screwed myself. But all in all pretty painless process. Just make sure you send a polite letter with ALL the info they ask for.

Now I just wait for my clubsports.

Maybe the pot inside is getting worn out. I think that most inputs are 10 Mohm but may be wrong It could be 10K ohm or something completley different. However if you open up the case it would be easy to tell. All you need then is to mark the wires and remove the pot. Take it to radioshack or maplins (depending where you live) and ask for one the same (same resistance and rotational degrees. You may have to cut the stalk to lenght if they dont stock an exact copy and then file a flat on it.

I noticed this today with my DFGT pedals that are over a year old. The breaks sometimes stay on abit and flicker on and off.

I don't think it's just that. This is a legitimate problem with some pedals that use pots to gauge pedal position.
I had problems with CSP load cell brakes in GT5 as well so it's not just pots. Every now and then I notice I suddenly start losing speed.
The game is showing my brakes are slightly engaged even with my foot off the brake pedal. I had to restart Gt5 to fit the problem. It doesn't happen often yet it still a pain if I'm in the middle of a race.
Then again it could be a sign of another load cell going bad yet it only happen in GT5 so far. That's maybe because I've spend most of my time playing GT5 lately.
