But is this new Motorsport general section really the way to go? I strongly believe that the old forum layout with a Formula 1 section was better organised and better on the whole for both F1 and the new sections which have been brought together to form this.

I suspect this may get locked soon but I just wanted to let my view be known. If a member of staff could let me know their reason for this before the thread is closed it would be greatly appreciated.

Any opinions?

I'm not going to close, but I will move it to the correct forum.

If you click the little icon that says "Formula 1" it will only show the threads in that section.

Why are you afraid your thread would be closed? Granted, I see you originally posted it somewhere else, but if you ever have any questions or concerns regarding site-related issues, this "Site Feedback" forum is the place for it. Anyways, I'm the only one who controls these sorts of things, and with any administrative position, I'm used to people expressing their opinions about my decisions. :)

As Justin pointed out, the consolidated Motorsports forum makes use of a new-ish forum software feature known as "Thread Prefixes", which I introduced earlier this year. They work much like tags, allowing you to filter forum threads by a particular topic. I thought the Motorsports forum would be a good candidate, given the temporal nature of different racing series and events. It is part of a larger campaign to push the site towards a lower number of highly active forums as opposed to a large number of less active forums.

I don't mind the new layout, but every time I click on the motorsport forum, I get all the threads again, rather than just the Formula 1 ones.
If there was some way to click back to the listings and only get the F1 threads, that would be better.

You can click on "Formula 1" in the forum description on the home page, or on the red prefix itself within the forum, to view only those threads.
