Our tests have shown that in order to run Crysis at high resolutions with all the bells and whistles you need hardware from the future.

I can only believe this will be double for FarCry 2 :-) No doubt it'll look awesome with the right gear..

I don't like the fact that it's a carbon copy of Crysis without the nanosuit.

Just as Crysis is a CC of FarCry, except with the Nanosuit - Don't you think it's just a little early to be complaining ?...

I enjoy abit of skepticism.

It's a better surprise when the game turns out good.

Here's some pics I took tonight during the first 5 minutes of game play.

Running 1920x1200, scaled images 60% at 85% JPEG compression. Enjoy.

Does it need a hardcore system like Crysis?

I don't think so.... It runs a lot smoother than Crysis. I had to drop my resolution and some settings to get it to play properly. With Far Cry, everything is cranked.

This is likely to be the first FPS I ever buy. What are your impressions, Pako?

^ well, the graphics are very very good, but crysis is more detailed in some areas. You can't start forrest fires in crysis, but buildings are more destructible in crysis. Also, I've heard that the Dunia engine takes advantage of multiple cores better than Crysis.

Anyone know the time scale in FC2? I was watching a beautiful sunrise and it only seemed a bit faster than real life.
The game looks very nice. :) it runs fine @ DX10 very high settings even on my 2ndary system which is a 5000+, 2gigs ddr2 and a 9600 GT. I wish there were wound decals. I wish I had more time to play games :(. I don't like how every gun is crap unless you buy it :p.

It's strange, sometimes when I'm driving through the desert i feel like i'm in some Pixar movie.

I thought the game was fine, but i was running in DX9 mode. DX10 stutters, but according to benchmarks, i am getting much higher framerates. 1st pic is running DX9 2x AA and very high settings at 1280x1024. second is DX10. Look at how spikey DX10 is. I dunno... i think some if it is my dated VGA LCD 19 inch monitor.

Here's mine. DX9 1920x1200 everything maxed.

As I mentioned in the PS3 forum, this game reminds me of a GTA in Africa. The driving gets old sometimes, but I'm always on the lookout for diamonds. :)

Farcry was definitely a ground braking game in it's day. I don't think Farcry 2 will live up to it's predecessor, but never the less, it's fun and enjoyable with game play and graphical surprises. Haven't tried any multiplayer. And yes, the storyline is weak, but straight forward.

This game is awesome. I'm playing on the 360, but I really love it. I'm about 15% or so in.

First, it goes without saying that the game is b-e-a-utiful. Even on the 360, the landscapes and the lighting are incredible. Really immersive.

Another thing is it's extremely polished. They didn't skimp on the details, which seems like a trend with sprawling open world games. Oblivion had a huge world, but it felt like you were just kind of thrown in there and you weren't really a part of it. This game feels like you're in it - the way you can interact with the scenery, the fires you can start, etc. Details, details, details.

Also, Paul Ferenc is a total badass.

thats strange, i have noticed quite a few bugs and details left out that have been included in recent games. But i am having fun playing :)
