Far Cry sequel coming to Xbox and 360!

"Far Cry Instincts Next Chapter (working title) will arrive for the original Xbox offering a new story, new characters, and new features which improve upon the original Xbox title.

For the Xbox 360, Ubisoft is creating Far Cry Instincts Predator, which includes enhanced versions of Far Cry Instincts Next Chapter and of the original Far Cry Instincts. " - IGN
 
These will be a must buy for both consoles especially if it has improvements on the map maker. The map maker in FCI was one of the best things invented for a FPS game. 👍
 
jeez man, I dont know if Ill ever play Battlefield 2! Might skip past it again for even more Far Cry action, its definately been my favorite FPS on Xbox, mainly because of the map editor like you said.

It would nice if both consoles could play together, but then that would probably mean they would have to say pretty equal on the map editor features :guilty: Oh well Ill just have to make my maps over again and even better this time lol
 
Since I started playing BF2:MC I have only touched Far Cry mabey once. Oh wait I guess I havent played Far Cry since I started playing BF2:MC. You should at least rent it one of these weekends and play with us.
When you get your xbox360. Just rent the xbox version since the 360 version isnt out yet.
 
I imagine the sequel will be improved. But I thought the first one they did a pretty good job, you had to sneak around to not be seen and if you walked too fast they heard something and were alerted and started looking around. Nothing better then setting up a tree trap and then throwing stones to lure them right into it ;)
 
The PC version IS some what old, it did come out when HL2 and DOOM 3 came out, 2 1/2 years ago, and that is a big amount of time if you think about it.
 
wow.. i just got farcry recently and it blew me away graphicly... man that was impressive seeing the sequal's improved graphics.
 
there will be atleast 3 new weapons, including BLOWGUN, PIPE BOMBS, and MOLOTOV COCKTAILS, the map editor has new features such as atleast one new brush set and a new template, ladders that automaticly snap to towers, avalible mounted weapons and 5 undo commands to erase map making mistakes. there is also a new game mode called "seek and secure"

release date is sometime in april ;)

I might have to get a 360 sooner than I planned if this game comes out in April. I am trying to wait but Far Cry Intsincts was soooo good for the xbox that I think it will be mind blowing for the 360. 👍

Its gonna be out for the Xbox too ;) but yes, it will look mind blowing on the 360. Did you see the video with the improved water effects? Its over at IGN

Yes I just watched that video about 5 minutes ago. I had to put my birthdate in for it for some reason. Very good video. I was like this :dopey: :dopey: The water at dusk was sick!! Looked so real!
The only thing I was not real impressed with was when he shot into the water on the 360 vs PC version video. It didnt cause the water to ripple like in Kameo. But oh well thats just being extremely picky. I know I would absolutely love Far cry on the 360. 👍

Long load times have been optimized
360 version will have double the framerate of the original (Xbox)
Draw distance of 2 kilometers

Feral Climbing abilities on certain surfaces
Feral Attack can now be performed underwater
Feral Jump now allows you to jump higher and farther

New Online gametype called "Seek and Secure"

Map editor gets a new Forest template
3 new vehicles
New brushes like 'tunnel brushes', zip lines, and more.


The Xbox version of the new Far Cry will allow you to import your maps from Far Cry Instincts.

Dang I dont even think I could decide between these 2 games. They both have advantages and disadvantages over each other. Very hard decision. You can fly helicopters in BF2 but you can make maps in FC but it doesnt mean anyone will want to play on them. Everyone always wants to play on their own maps. The map maker is FC strong point but BF2 is loaded with soo much more vehicles and character choices. Either way I would hate to see this become a comparison thread. I guess if I absolutely had to decide between the two, I would go with BF2:MC. Just buy both.

Once again... I'm just not impressed especially coming from a game like F.E.A.R. I guess it's just too cartoony to me.

I never understood what was so terrific about FEAR. I got sucked into the hype and bought the game. I have even upgraded my PC for $1000 to play that game and I just dont get it. It is not that great. Battlefield 2 is way more fun and when it comes to multiplayer, Far cry is more fun that fear. Please explain again to me what is so special about FEAR? Can you fly vehicles? Does it have a map maker? Half Life 2 is way better than fear IMO. Actually you never say anything postive about much at all. Kinda reminds me of Vipfreak. Actually I have a feeling you could be Vipfreak looking at when he left and when you joined the board. ANd your replies are very similar.
 
OMG I just totally realized that FPS_Noob IS VIPFREAK. :lol: I knew you wouldnt leave forever because the converstaion forum was gone. You and I need to play some more games together.
