This BC5 is my last show in the GT scene, so I would like to give my thanks to these users for these great GT years of enjoyment, I hope Duke don't mind that I steal some size of his server for this but as GTPlanet is the current BC host, it's the place where my greetings can arrive to the most possible people.
If you think that this is not a good place to put this topic, just move it to a better place.

It's difficult to give a full list of users that I've had the pleasure to talk with, my tiny brain can't remember all of them, anyway here's the list of the most representative GT users that I've been in contact in some manner, real or ultraterrenal.
Note for newbies: take good note about these nicks, they contribute to built what the GT community is, all of them are from the GT jurassic as I was, none of them defraud me for an instant, all of them are gentlemen.

As I'm a sentimentalist I would like to read this list in loud voice and one by one with some song on the background but as this is not possible, here's a link of a proper song and a proper meaning at the time when you read these names.

I think this quote fits well here :D :
"All right now, I'm comin' out, any man I see out there, I'm gonna shoot him, any sum***** takes a shot at me, I'm not only gonna kill him, but I'm gonna kill his wife, all his friends, burn his damn house down, can you hear it? you better bury Ned right, you better not cut up nor otherwise harm no whores, or I'll come back and kill everyone of you sons of *****es." ~ William Munny ~ (Unforgiven)

First of all: beautifully spoken :)

It's a pity we have to go on without you. I haven't raced you that many times, but you were always incredibly fast, up until today. And besides your fast times you also added something special to the community with your humour and sentimentalism.

I hope you made this decision because you think it's time to say goodbye to the GT community, not because of private situation...

Ramon, I wish you all the best with your further life and that you may score a nice result in your BC race to say goodbye with to all of us!

Ciao,
Hugo

Only had the pleasure of racing beside you a few times, Board Challenges not included, but you were always a gentleman, and always way faster than I was ;). It's sad to see one of OLR's long-standing top-timers depart, so may you be just as successful in future endeavors :)

Take care,
Kyle

A sad day for Grand Turismo... :(

Ramon, you were and will always be a class act. Over the years, you are one of the GT Luminaries I've watched with awe and admiration, not only for your accomplishments on track, but for your contributions to the GT Community, overall.

I hope that when (and if) true Online Racing becomes a reality in GT5, that you will join us again...it wouldn't be the same without you.

Best wishes to you and yours, Mate 👍

Ed

GT5 might bring you back eh ramon?

Been a a pleasure racing with you all these years. Always fast and never hard to talk to.

I'm sure we will swap paint at some stage in the future mate .....be it GT5 or LFS2 or something else.

Best - o - luck in whatever you are racing.

cheers

Sorry to see you go also Ramon :indiff: you will be missed mate .... but I guarantee you have left a lasting impression on many OLR members of yesterday and now 👍 .... The original Licence Test Gold Junkie will be hard to forget

Take it easy mate and all the best for the Future :)
Regards
Ron.

Thanks for mentioning me on your list Ramon, glad to be in such elite company.:dopey: I didn't know you personally very well, I may have raced aginst you once or twice in TORC I think, and chased a few old Racing-Line records of yours, but I was always impressed by your license times around the net, and your great attitude in every post that I saw in various GT forums. Best wishes and good luck mate.

It's very sad to see you go Ramon. You are truly one of the fastest and nicest people on the planet, and I thank you for all the help you've given me over the years. It's hard to imagine Gran Turismo without you as you were one of the first that I met.

I wish you the very best in whatever you may do or wherever you may go. You're the greatest.

I can't add very much things now as they all been said now. Glad I made this great list. It's an honor! :dopey:

Best wiches in your "next" life mate! Hope to see you again around here! 👍

See ya, Ramon, take care!

It's our pleasure to give you the space to say such an eloquent goodbye. Best of luck to you in all you do!

This is one of the saddest things I've ever had to do. Ramon, mi amigo, my friend, I will miss you.

You and I have known each other since long before the original 9 Boards, all the way back to the Gold Junkies of GT2 at GTF and Mack's database. In spite of some linguistic troubles, you always took the extra time to help the slow (and old ;)) guys to catch up with you. But only for a moment, then off into the distance you'd fly!

I always wanted to be as good as you were on the track. But that wasn't to be. I also saw the way you helped, in the advice you gave, and in the millions of other things you've done for us, individually and collectively. I can only thank you for giving all of us what we will always remember, yourself.

Please, stop in and let us know how you are doing, and what you've been doing. I for one will want to know! Now I'll have no one to answer my question: "Donde esta el Bano?" :)

Vaya con Dios amigo, and good luck! I will miss you.

Rick

I forgot to applaud the quote from Unforgiven 👍 ... now that film to this day is still the best western I ever watched

Clint eastwood was just made for the role ... I wanna watch it again now!

.... from Rawhide to The man with no name to Dirty Harry! To Gunny Highway and then to William munny ... with many more inbetween ... I think he has had as many characters as you Ramon
But both are still up there with the Greats in my book :)

Laters 👍

A true class act, you will be missed Ramon.

I can still remember the original 9 boards when my dad was racing an arcade denso at Trial Mountain for GT.com (GTX now) and I told him there was an alien in his race: eclipsee!

Thank you for your incredible efforts in the GTN garage, your testing and commitment to making our team better have paid big time. The fact that you will go to the trouble of making and hosting a vid for your American teammates to view says it all. Thank you.

I can't beleive :nervous:

This "Game" is in your blood man

Unless you have a Very good reason

Most probably you do

We'll miss you never the less

A sad day

For all of us

Fare well :)

Ramon,

I think it was about 5 years ago with the license tests of GT2 when we met for the first time at GTF and at HGT. As it was then and also always after those days you could help me in my efforts to handle the game. You always could keep up your humor and give encouraging help that your slower friend needed.

I want to thank you for your great help I've got from you during all these years.

I wish you all the best and even if you didn't play GT in the future you could pop in to say hello every now and then.

It's great honor for me to see my name on your list.

Gulp  Had 2 nasty shocks in this BC and this is one of them.
Ramon my Friend, First of all it's a real honur for a slow ass gringo like me to make your list of online mates ;).
You've been one of my all time DS2 gunslinger hero's for many a year, and I can't pretend it's not sad to see you hanging up you GT guns.

I was first aware of you when I saw that lethal name "Eclipsee" crowding out nearly every test in Macks old database, and when I got to see some of those old replays I was blown away in awe. I remember thinking to myself.. there's got to be a downside, maybe this guy is right up his own arse and full of himself... But when I finaly had the priveledge of getting to know you, I found that this missconception couldn't be farther from the truth, you turned to be one of the best blokes around... Dead easy to get on with.. ALWAYS very helpfull and sharing, (and not only with the GT tips) and a great sence of humour to boot.

A well rounded human being who natural abbility has not only enriched the GT scene for many years.. but a bloody good mate to know. Your track reputation is already carved in GT History.. but I think the proudest legacy in such a long OL carrer, is that I can honestly say that I'll never heard a bad word said about you... openly, backstage, or in the heat of competition... That's the feat of a true gent Amigo 👍 .

Like the rest of your mates here.. I too hope the GT Bug digs under your skin in the future.. if it does, I want front row seats for the comeback concert :).
You know I wish you well for whatever you do.. and if you get sucked into another racing platform.. all I can say to them is BEWARE! coz you could put this guy in a supermarket trolly with a buckled wheel, and he'd still pull an incredible lap :D

Please stay in contact if you feel the urge.. however long the gap.. You'll always be a good mate. Meantime, enjoy the retirement slippers around the fireside ;)
But I have to say mate they don't suit you :D. But pulling a podium in a BC is a nice way to say farewell 👍

oh well what can i say. i miss ya since a while and the endless chats in the MSN. 2 punks tried to talk to each other in proper oxford english night for night. :D

finally i teached you one thing about win98 and RAM ;) i ll never forget you, thats for sure and i m sure we ll find another playground in future to waste some time together. :)

it would take hours to write all down, what you did for the GT community or your last team GTN. All the paintings for the F1 mods, logos for Boards, Replays for Grandmas and always up for some drunken chats in long long nights.

Take care my First Lady, and try my tip in the PC scene ;)

Regards,

dahoney ^^

Ramon, you've always been one of those racers that I've considered 'All time great GT Drivers"! There is a select few and you know who you are. Some of the new cats around could learn a few things from you guys. I'm sad to see you go. There's still a lot of racing out there but I'm sure you have good reasons for hanging it up. Good luck and God speed. Always your friend.
Jim/GT3mich

I don't really know what to say matey
It's a real honour to be on ur list, I can't say I know you at perfection, like some others do, but I always followed you (person and ghosts :D), since the time u joined Euro league at AC and never seen anything wrong with you, never a bad situation...you made a lot for this community, and classy guys like you deserve special thanks from all of us...I hope u'll keep posting now and then to let us know how ya doing ;)
best wishes for Real Life and family...
You're a great person 👍

Ele agradece Ramon, muchas gracias! :)

It's sad to see you saying farewell, but that's life, I understand your decision.
Even if I also left some time ago, when I see someone like you also retiring, can't help missing those days when you, Robert (you forgot Rob ;) ), Link, DES, turbotom, Slowpoke, Wity and others at one point were moderators and raced for RL. We had some good and bad days, but mostly good times!

Well, you could be retiring from the GT scene, but we will always be around to chat on msn or wherever. :dunce:

Hasta pronto amigo!

Sad day indeed. Crazy to think that those days from racing-line when we had that great mod/admin staff is already considered the good ole days. Best wishes to you Ramon!

Great choice of music to go out on...

Ramon, you'll be missed by a lot of PPL, another of the Old Timers to retire the GT boots and move on. I hope the grass is greener on the other side of the fence and you take full advantage of it, maybe GT5 will get its act together and be fully online capable to drag you back to the crowd, if not, that is your decision.

Cheers
Simon
