I already hate this track as is, but I'm gonna try it tonight as I just unlocked endurance races yesterday.

What's a fun and competitive car I should try for this race? Something beefy and fast, but not like the X1 and definitely not a Samba Bus lol.

i just completed it with the x1. obviously it was extremely unfun, however i really just wanted to get it done as fast as possible... its got wagon's and civics in it... for me it wasn't about just winning... but winning and trying to cut out an hour of wheel time.

I'd suggest a car with good cornering, because doing the fast turns flat out is a lot of fun. The car I used was a Nissan Z, with aero and racing hard tires, which was really nice and more or less at the same level as the competition. If you want a car faster than the other competitors I would recommend any rally car (~300 hp).

Just so you know, the cars there will usually be less than 300 hp, and will run for a long time without changing tires (I think the longest did just one stop), and the fastest car I've raced was an NSX.

I took a Amuse/Opera GRAN TURISMO 350z RS to the track of this one.
Pretty much stock, I changed the wheels, got an oil change and gave it carbon-drivetrain and sport soft, med and hard.

I started the race with Sport hard and passing the startline at the second lap i was in 2nd place just behind the NSX(1st) bout two seconds, and passed him halfway through to the 3rd lap. I did some few drifting moves but also did some nice clean laps with the NSX a some seconds behind me like 3-5seconds. I passed the last car in 12th at lap 7 and the NSX was cathing up becouse of the good use of tyres, did a mistake that made the NSX in the lead at lap 9 or 10, and our distance between or gap became bigger for each round. I was forced to pit in at lap 13 as i wanted to push my car a bit more and made it spin in every corner halfway to the pit during that lap. Now i was about good 45+ seconds behind the NSX and I would try out the Sport soft tyres. exiting the pit in 3rd, first pitstop. I came closer the NSX with about 4seconds each lap, andbecouse of my focus and easy throtle though enough to perform good laps, even better when pushing with hard tyres, i didnt have to pit until lap 29.

So soft sport made the car grip and it was hard to do a drift and easy on the brakes it lasted longer then the hard once AND it gave me better laptimes. I noticed this when i still used soft tyres after my 3rd pitstop and was in a good lead where i pushed my car as I wanted to improve times, my tyres lasted for a good 13 laps (same as with hard and sometimes drifting during corners)

It was a good enjoyable two and a half hour race. best lap time was about 2:05.xxx

I did it with a bone stock (except for oil change) Ferrari F40. Complete overkill but I can drive that car for hours and enjoy myself. I find it even more enjoyable to turn the HUD off for the entire race.

What kind of time are we looking at here? Thinking of doing it, but need to make sure I have the hours open. I'll use something around 300HP, so not X1 or LM speed. Anyone know? Actually, how many laps is it, I can run some practice and multiply it out to ball park it. Thanks!

I did it in an M3 '04 with Sport Hard tires, stock apart from an oil change and it was enough fun when I wanted but still a good race against an NSX-R 02.

This is the beauty of GT5 that many people miss. It can be as ahard or as difficult as you want.

Couldn't have said it better 👍 There is always a challenge to be had if you are looking for one :)

i've done this race four times.
first time in the GTR SpecV. second time in the Zonda R. third time in the FGT (i needed some exp). and the last time in the Camaro SS '10.

the Zonda R was easily the most fun of the four races.
it's complete overkill, but it felt like Pagani specificly designed the Zonda R to run at Grand Valley Speedway. slingin' that thing around that track is the most fun i think i've had with the game yet, short of racing with the guys online, even though i was basicly racing against myself, trying to beat the lap record i'd just set while dodging 11 other cars.

Some sort of a Subaru Legacy wagonny thing is what I used. Handles very well, being 4wd and all.
A couple of weight reductions and a racing exhaust are enough to make it sufficiently fast, but I suppose a close race would have been more 'fun'.

I did it in an otherwise stock NSX-R with sport softs and it was too easy. Keeping the sport hards or maybe mediums could be good if you get the line up with other NSXs. Fun track with the car though.

I used the Toyota FT-86 on sport soft tires and an oil change. 233hp, 1000kg weight.

Sport softs made it too easy. If I did it again I'd have used sport hards. I had to pit twice (every 20 laps) for new tires (might have had enough fuel to go the distance). My best lap was a 2:08.xxx but I averaged around 2:12 - 2:13s. At the end of the race the 2nd place '01 NSX was a lap down to me.

FYI all the computer cars pitted twice.
