Just wondering which of the cars is the best for grinding in these seasonals. The muscle cars are great fun to drive, but are prone to understeer massively. The Cobra '66 must be the fastest on a strait line, giving it an advantage in Daytona, producing a top speed of 320 on the longest strait.

However, on the other tracks (which is also alot of fun) i belive the Corvette Stingray L46 '69 can be the fastest on the other complex tracks (1.05.xxx - 1.06.xxx on Toscana) since its engine is lighter, reducing understeer. Anywho, I am willing to be proven wrong. I am looking for the fastet car to grind every race.

I has tried the cobra, the charger R/T, the challenger RM, all heavily tuned and downsized to 550 and the fastest was the cobra with a lap time in the 0:47 seconds (with DS3)

EDIT: The fastest money is still in the K-Car S.E.

Any Muscle car with a racing gearbox and a level 1 weight reduction should do it fine :) Stock muscle cars have a low top speed...

I'm sorry, but this answer doesn't help anything at all. If you had read the op you would understand what I am talking about.

As for fook7008, I will try a tricked - down GT 40 gainst the others tomorrow and see how it does. I'm quite curious to see if it is any faster at all! :D

I just did cape ring in a detuned corvette ZO6 c2 race car, very easy and I think my laps were about 1:38ish, with a ds3 and no tuning, other than the engine limiter.

Think outside the box... Detune a 2D, GT40 Racecar or MK IV Racecar, good fun and uber-fast.

GT40, detuned with all the downforce off - Major grindage on the Daytona circuit. (if the gearbox is set right it'll hit 195mph on the straights) Currently have the "rigged pad" technique in use, and managed to get a bunch of real sand-baggers so am getting first place for each run. Sleepy time now, let's see how much that gets me in the morning!!
I finished all the others with a detuned RM Challenger with full downforce, simples!

I used a '70 Plymouth Superbird I bought in the Used Dealer that I dropped about $100K into (racing suspension & transmission, RS tires, and a supercharger). It goes like crazy and have made about $2M with it!

Absolutely, I have the GT40 detuned to 400hp (still way too much), it is SO much fun, same for the 63' Z06, another winner. :)

The Shelby GT350 is faster on Daytona than the Cobra.

Shelby GT350R 46.5
Shelby Cobra 427 47.1
Plymouth Superbird 47.2
Mercury Cougar XR-7 47.5
Pontiac Tempest Le Mans GTO 47.6
Dodge Charger Super Bee 426 Hemi 47.8
Chevrolet Camaro Z28 48.3
Chevrolet Corvette Convertible (C3) 48.4
Chevrolet Corvette Coupe (C2) 48.5
Ford Mustang Mach 1 48.7
Dodge Challenger R/T 49.4

I'll try the GT40 tomorrow.

The GT 40 is definitly faster on complex tracks, like Toscana, lapping in 1:03:2xx (maybe faster with a perfect setup) which is 2 - 3 sec faster than the 'Vette L46. Fastest lap on Daytona with GT 40 (ballast 200 kg, 550 pp) was 0:46:669 (with drafting 0:46:210)

Sounds like it still has too much downforce, even when cranked fully down.

I can hit 197 consistently on the Daytona straight (without drafting) in my Super Bee. 550pp too.

The Camaro Z28 '69 RM is my favorite. At less than 1100kg and with plenty of front and rear downforce the handling is unmatched by anything other than the GT40. It kills at Leguna Seca in particular. Fully tuned it's over 600pp!

Has anyone got the Chapparal 2J? Curious to know how it does relative to the GT 40 on Toscana

👍

I has tried GT40 and Chap 2D and both are not faster than 0:48 at least in my hands :dunce:

For a "Muscle Car" seasonal it seems pretty ludacris to me that you can use the Cobra, GT40 or any Chapparrel. Those are all race cars. Does nobody like a challenge anymore?

Stock I'd have to say the Shelby GT350R is one of the fastest cars. RH tires and a customized box were my only mods and I easily won at Laguna Seca. All that with only 458PP

I win all the events except for Oval Indy, on a mildly upgraded '69 Vette, with only sport softs, and adjusted LSD. (Stock tranny, 4 gears.)

If I drop a customizable 6 gear box into it, I think I can beat the downtuned GT40 Ford with it.

the lightweight KEI cars...3 lapson the Eifel cart track just a lil over 3 minutes pays 101k n it's alot of fun.I have a Suzuki Cervo slightly modded and it hauls butt with it's 7 speed tranny

69 Chevy Stingray, tuned. Man is that a nice car! Looks good and goes like a rocket! Only done Daytona so far, easy Gold even tho the revs bottom out at 147 mph

You can do 1:01s in a heavily detuned 2J on the Toscana track, and you will lap most of the field. It only just squeezes into the regs as well! Really though I think it's a joke you can run these kinds of car in a muscle car seasonal, but for grinding then it's the way to go!

I'll run it on Daytona too, see how fast it is there as well, watch this space :)

Completed all the events in my 69 Corvette convertible fully modified and detuned to 550 pp. Grind Daytona in my 66 Cobra which is great because I'm a new GT5 driver using ds3 and can't really drive it anywhere else. Getting low .47 lap times, and got my trophy for running 3 or more laps at near same time

The '63 Vette isn't bad for these events either, good max speed and you can of course gear it to go faster still.

I always try cars as stock first, well I just add SS tyres but most cars you can make second but never catch up with the runaway leader...I sometimes get within a second or two but it's kinda tedious, although I guess in a way it offers more value as you try out more mods to catch up.

Might try a heavily modded '54 Vette though, could be fun :)

I'm using a modded up Cougar for the seasonal..running 45-46 sec lap times..if it wasn't for the pp cap I'd use my tuned Superbird 43-44 sec lap times and it tops out at 219 on Stage 7 track

I used the 63 vette racecar detuned to 550 pp and it got the job done, but anyways there's a point where acceleration meets top speed, the higher the rpms without hitting the rev limiter, the faster it will go basically, that's why they gave you the hp and torque charts so if you gear it lower that doesn't mean it'll go faster if that's what you're sayin
