What is the fastest economical car in GT5?
For example; Lets say that you had to do 50 laps of Autumn Ring (typical GT5 course) without pitting. What car would be good on it's tyres and also be fast. Remember no pitting because that is not economical and also what set of tyres would last the longest and still be competitive?

It's the driver's technique which wears the tyres down more that the actual car itself, so there's no way of telling.

The thread's title just reminded me of this, I know it's not on GT5 but couldn't resist:

In a logical way of thinking a very lightweight and reasonably powered car (by looking at the opponents' cars and your own skills) will do fine. Try not to get those tires "red". 💡

Go for something lightweight with a high P/W ratio. After that, fuel economy is about how hard you push it.

The BMW M3 CSL (best car in it's class IMO) or a well tuned Elise come to mind, unless your talking race cars.

Try ZZII
very cheap for its performance, and you can buy a LOT of tyres and gas with your budget :D

The TVR's, Tacoma or Tamora. Either would do well. Probably also the Renaults. 2nd poster is right about the tires. For someone who likes to slip and slide like me I'd have to pit to changed them. That's why I'd start with racing hards.

One technique to save fuel is to short shift. The higher the RPM, the more fuel you burn. I surely agree with something lightweight. It depends just how competitive you want to be, but I would say that the Lotus Elise is a good balance between the two.

Peugoet 908 HDI FAP will most certainly do 50 laps around autumn ring on a full tank and get you there pretty much ahead of aeverything else.
