My colleague has this:

I had seen this car shortly before and was discussing it:

Porsche1_600.jpg

and he was very certain that his car was faster around the track.

I was not that certain so I'm trying to do a comparison in GT5. (some got this wrong, it is not to prove what car is faster, just if there is some doubt or not)
But these cars do not exist in GT5.

So a car near to a:

I found trying it quite fun:
111R near specs and RUF near specs on a track, both on Sports Hard tires.

Just state here your specs used and track and your result!

P.S.: My first test did not have the right specifications I noticed writing this up.

I suggest you use the tyres from this spreadsheet, https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=160821&highlight=strange+interesting , you will then have to match the 111r and the ctr2 to specs close to the exige and the porsche by changing the gearbox ,suspension, weight reduction/ballast and power upgrades/limiter, i suggest you use carfolio.com and google to find out about the gear box ratios, weight distribution power etc. You must however remember that this still won't make the cars identical to the real cars because of some factors you have no control of (tyre size) or you can't measure (downforce), also the fact that GT5 is a game.
Hope that helps ;)

As much as I normally encourage playing around with cars to see results, you're not going to be able to get a true comparison. Each newer car has gotten better from its predecessor. The RUF is also overtuned from the 911. IMO it's like taking the Nismo R34 and comparing it to an R34. Or, taking an R34 and trying to tweak the settings, etc. to get something comparable to an R35(GTR). You may be able to get close, but we'll never know with this comparison.

Conclusion: There definetly is some doubt which one is the fastest ExigeS or 996 Turbo.

Used was the
Lotus Elise 111R, 218 bhp, 935 kg, Sport Hard no further changes.
RUF CTR2, 414 bhp, 1540 kg, Sport Hard no further changes.

Used tracks were Nordschleife, Tsukuba, Fuji GT, Autumn ring mini, Grand Valley East
Some I tried in Practice mode some with B-Spec.

First the PP on the RUF are a lot higher, but that does not make it faster on all tracks.
B-Spec did not like the RUF ; on Tsukuba, Autumn ring mini, Grand Valley East it was a lot slower then the Lotus.

However I did constantly beat the Lotus, taking very strange lines sometimes, but with what I would call a not significant difference on the above tracks.
The difference was higher on the Nordschleife and Fuji GT, where the F6 power helped.

I analysed with the ghosts on the Nordschleife and the 3 first marks I could be faster with the Lotus, then I had trouble keeping up with a bad run of the RUF.

In real life:
Porsche 911 Turbo, 70.956 km, 44.000 €
Lotus ExigeS, 30 326 km, 27 950 €

Other conclusion: my colleague did a good buy, that Lotus is a buzz and the average speeds on many small tracks seemed higher to me, more control, lines are cleaner.
The Porsche is about confort and power, on the track it is a lot to handle, but when you handle it the 4WD pulls you through incredible turns.

The fastest will depend on a lot of factors IRL, that experiment goes a bit above my budget.

Like the guy said above...GT5 is a game, you are not going to get any kind of accurate results.
