Lap time questions are supposed to go in the

GT5 Race Reports

forum, I'm pretty sure.

Well, it is a report of a race :p And a plus to Mitch. A video is highly necessary to prove you've done the time.

Besides the Video the Time is not very good even with Racing Hards (except you had ABS turned to 0 <- if this mighty respect from me).
1:22 should be your Target (or better) because I´m doing sub 1:40s with my Renault Clio v6 (I´ll have a look later and see if I´m posting BS ;))

Yeah i just realised i'd written down 1.45.5. I meant 1.15.5
I think i might just take a photo of the time, or will people say i could've been using aids?

Going to mess around with transmission next time around

I've only managed a 1:16:841 with no aids and manual.:(

Here's me on my way to a 1:09, but someone joined the room at exactly the wrong time and the pop-up box threw me off as I was diving into the swimming pool. Ended up with a 1:10.382 which was still good. This a while ago with racing softs.
Keep in mind this is a really low quality video since it was taken from my livestream channel and ported over in low-res to my Youtube channel automatically. But you can still see, and more importantly hear, what's going on.

This was during free run with low fuel and with an engine still not broken in.

I'd imagine the absolute best possible lap only an alien could perform would be near the low 9s and possibly through some sort of possessed lap, a high 8, but it's not too likely. Maybe in a race with a couple quick drafts. Although they'd have to be really touch and go for them to have any sort of advantageous effect in Monaco.

I've gone faster and done 1:09.8xx a couple times and I actually hit a 1:10.8xx on racing hards during qualifying for a spot race so they're not too far behind in potential.

No special set up btw.

A friend of mine named Reventon can do 1:09.7s pretty consistently.

So for someone starting out, realistically, they should aim for 1:13s then work their way down.

Once you hit low 12's I'd say you're a pretty fast dude and should be proud 👍

I'll try and record myself doing a 1:09 in HD sometime soon, could be a cool project.

Edit:
forgot to mention that I did this with no aids except ABS set to 1 and, yes, manual of course.

Did you do this with assists?
Edit: Never mind

Ok thanks for the tips. I have to shorten the gears as i'm using stock settings (don't use 7th gear anywhere on the track). How much of a difference do you think ABS and a 40% fuel tank would make?

Edit: I want to try online physics. Is there a way i can make a test room or something where i can just hotlap?

go community, your name, then lounge 👍

i have done a 1:14.XXX before, all you need is to skim the walls on entry to corners, and get that end section perfect.

I can do low 1.11s online but there is always a random japanese guy that goes 4 secs faster somehow.

Monaco is my worst track in F1. I just can't stay consistent at all. I have a 1'11'3 online and a 1'09'3 in practice mode but my average is usually 2 seconds off my best.

 in a couple days I'll try to do a time attack in my Ferrari F2007 and F10 and see if I can get a time lower than 1:10

In Practice mode I've got a 1:12.160 in the F10 with no driving aids and using a DS3. Somehow I got a 1:12.080 with the F2007, but if I race online I generally find the F10 faster.

Edit: both laps were on Racing Soft tyres.

My favourite track :P although I don't own either Ferrari F1 car (I'd barely use it to be honest), but I've got the odd race car to decent times :P.

I can't see how people are claiming 1:15's aren't possible, I've seen just shy of that with an FGT online... And trust me, I basically live on Cote d'Azur when I'm on GT5.

I ran a 1:11.305 on rs tires using my ds3 and no aids except abs:1

Why does everyone use ABS? No driver aids in formula 1

I didn't and I got a 1:16:841

Monaco is my worst track in F1.

Yeah, of all tracks, Monaco has given me the most trouble, but I have improved over time. The relentless brutality of the circuit is why I enjoy seeing them run there every year, however.

It's not a major difference without ABS since GT5's tire model isn't great.

I just keep it at 1 'cause I do that for every car.

Also, offline times, which doesn't have tire wear, will always be
faster than online. As you could see in my video, it was done online.

If I had a wheel I wouldn't even think about it but it's too hard with a ds3.
