Fastest lap recording ideas

I've just had an idea about how the fastest lap for each track can be recorded and what is recorded. (assuming you can set fastest laps while racing again like the original GT)

When you get to that menu thing just before the race (race - qualify - settings etc) a new 'button' could be placed there for 'fastest lap' on that circuit.

Once you press the button it opens a new screen and says the following;
- Car make/model which set the time
- Real-time time and date when it was set
- HP of the car
- Mileage?
- What race/mode the record was done in
- What lap it was set
- And maybe the modifications of the car and settings.

It's probably just a waste of space - but it would help you to know so that you know how to beat it (if settings etc are saved).

And while i'm at it - they should make space for at least 50 saved records instead of 12. (at least 12 was better than GT2's six)

I wish you could have different records for different categories of car per track (maybe player given?). For example I'd like to see which is the fastest saloon car with <300BHP, but I'd also like to set fast lap times in faster cars...which would ruin the saloon car records

So maybe have a 'folder' based records system, which you can create as many as you want aslong as you've got enough mem card space, or maybe even use the HDD

And of course if you didn't want to do that, just leave the old style record system as is.

For GPL, there exists a program called "replay analyser" - something which was made afterwards by users, like Arwin's program.

But it has a fantastic feature : it allows you to merge up to 5 replays, and see those cars all together on the track. During the replay, GPL allows you, as GT, to swich between different views and cars.

This is great to compare cars! Or to look which car is faster then in a particular turn.

GT allows this only for 2 cars now, but seeing and hearing 5 cars you drove is so much more spectacular!!
