Hey guys,
I want to do the 24h Nürburgring race with 3 friends.
They are very unexperienced, so we need a fast car.
It also shouldn't be very hard to handle.
We tested the 787b and it's ok for them with TK, but they have huge problems in the rain.
Which car is faster oder better controllable, that they don't lose so much time oder that i at least can catch up the lost time?

Thanks for your help.

908 is a decent car, but you need a good tune on it. The stock settings make it tough in turns

great thanks :) (also thanks for the tip with the peugeot)
will test that out..

is there a difference in performance between oreca and total?

I've seen low 5:20's posted for the 908.. 787 is faster, but if your co-drivers are inexperienced, the 908's a safer choice.

If you're talking about raw speed, the Minolta is probably the fastest, but with over 1000 bhp, it can be a handful on this track....especially if you're talking about an inexperienced driver.

RKM has good tunes (as does Praiano) for both the R10 TDI and the Peugeot 908. My recommendation would be the 908, as it seems more stable when you hammer the gas coming out of corners. Here's a link to a really nice tune for the 908:

Good luck! I just finished the 4-hour Nurburgring race (lapped the field), but I'm going to wait until in-game saves are available...hopefully in the Spec 2 update.

Best,

Cale

searched the tuning forum, but can't find one for the 908 :(

Hi, I like the Peugeot 908, it's a "Premium car" too. (the Mazda 787B is not to shabby either)
Here is my "basic suspension tune" that I use for most of my cars including the 908..
Camber: F2, R1.
Toe: F -0.1, R +0.2. (yes that's MINUS 0.1 on the front) It seems to counter the oversteer under braking.
Lower ride height a bit.
Springs: F&R about 50%.
Dampers: F&R, comp. & ext. @ 6.
Roll bars: F&R @ 7.
LSD: 10/40/20. (check this out, IMO some cars are way off, eg. Cobra)
Brakes: F6, R5.
Wing: Front about 50%, Rear about 80-85%.
RS Tires, (Racing hard or medium last longer for endoros)...
IMO there's nothing wrong with using the TC and ABS @ about 7 (most cars, these days, have this anyway)
Take the ASM off as this WILL slow you down,
Put the SRF on and use "rain tires" or "inters" if your friends have too much trouble in the rain....Hope this helps...Have fun.
(My progress: A spec.36, B spec.40)

@cale
the minolta isn't premium.. we want to drive in cockpit view

for the save function - it's more fun and realistic to do it with friends and drivers change in the pit..
if you don't have friends who like to play gt, i would prefere to drive with bob instead of mid-race save.. it's not the sence of an enduro..

thanks for your tune anyway.. will test that out

@chris
also thanks to you

Look up paraino on the tuning forum. He has loads of tunes for the Zonda and 908

Zonda isn't as fast as the opposition, you can't drive at 90% for 24h...it's crazy (I don't know how good you are).
787B is the fastest Premium excluding F1 and X2010.

the soft racing tires are better than the hard.... you have to pit with the hards earier because of little slides that will bourn you tires more

lets hope they fix it in the spec 2.0, destroys the sens of hard or medium tires (excluding grip lvl)

The fastest premium car besides the X1 and F1 is the 908 i think. I can do a faster lap with the 908 than with the 787B.

we've tested both with different tunes and my friends are better with the 787..
decision made ;)
will make a thread with live stream link and all, when wie do the race

thanks @all

Hi, I think you're right, I use RS tires all the time, unless it's raining....have fun.

Hi, I forgot the Peugeot 905 '92 race car (5Mil. UCD not premium). IMO it's better than the 908 when you tune it, 889Hp @ 750Kg. Really hot, about the best car in the game except for the FGT and X2010, Have fun.

Again the 908 BUT do not lower the rear supension more than the front [As a well known and very good tune on here does] as you will be plainspotting on main beam in the dead of night. I dont know how much of a purist you are but I would also reccomend leaving the driving line on [ I didnt ] as the fast section leading to the carrusel is damned hard when lights are skyward and no driving line to see where your going, 200mph plus along there. If you do decide not to [ I found this out 2 hours from sun up Doh] your in race mini menu you can adjust the EV settings.
