Fastest Race Car

Sure, the Group C cars and LMP cars are the best (along with the Formula), but what, in your opinion, is fastest race car, besides those? Some of my favorites are the Escudo, 2J, and RX-8 LM.

Out of the Le Mans Prototypes, I think the best overall race car is the Mazda RX-7 LM. It handles incredibly well and has excellent acceleration, top speed, braking and cornering. Without doing any modification, I can outrun race cars like the McLaren F1 GTR on races set at difficulty 10 (175 A-spec pts and over).

By the way, it's the car I prefer to drive on any given track and in LAN racing.

My favorite giant-beater is the Viper GTS-R Team Oreca. I've beaten the Mercedes AMG CLK GTR whatever the crap it is multiple times with ease with no modifications at all.

I race online via Kai Xlink with a local group of 4, and we also use the RX-7 LM. One of the best cars of all.

I do have to agree with you about the Oreca Viper. I love that car.

I found the Mclaren F1 to be the best race car i have used, that was untill i decided to put a turbo on it, in turn letting have about eleventy billion horsepower! needless to say it turned into a camber sniffing pig!

Do not and i repeat DO NOT use fully tuned on the nurburgring without some sort of traction control as not only does it go where the cambers on the course go it becomes very very skittish! leave it standard with no aids and its a dream to drive.

I dont think its fastest in a straight line but pop is very competent round a track and i have beaten many a faster car using this.

I'm not sure this is going to go anywhere... and besides, you can't really have an opinion about what car is faster than what.... it either is the fastest car in its class or it isn't... what we really seem to be debating here is what is your favourite car, and that could go on forever...
