You sure we haven't done this before?

That's all I can think of at the moment.

Yep, it's just a photoshop. Theres no official pics of the new Espada yet.

All time top 10....
1 - Aston Martin DB9 coupe
2 - TVR Cerbera Speed 12

All the ones on Google are photoshops (or at least the ones that I can find). Lambo are actually planning a new Espada, and it looks pretty sweet.
Bullish Lamborghini is raiding its back catalogue for the next generation of supercars, with 21st century updates of the Espada grand tourer, LM002 SUV and Miura supercar on the way. *snip* Lamborghini is working on two layouts: a mid-engined 2+2 and a front engined coupe like the original Espada.
Apparently it will probably be based on the new A6 chassis. I'll try and dig up some pictures. 👍

I believe in '97 there was a GT-R 4 door...but I could be remmebering wrong. There was a 4 door in '97 that I do remember. What I wouldn't give for even a 4 door R33. The R33 GT-R is definately the best looking Skyline to me.

The 4 door GTR was a Nissan Skyline Autech 4 door GTR, then afew Nismo versions (like a 4 door verion of the Nismo 400R) were also sold.

What's everyone got against the 80's? The 70's were much worse.

Well, it was all a very dark period between about 1973-1985. Power numbers were down (the Corvette was barely pushing 200 most of the time), styling was pushed more to safety and practicality, and innovation was all but halted in the US (hardly the case in Germany and Japan).

I dont know if I would say the '70s were worse overall, but the '80s werent great either...

Well, not for the US, although I think there's a fair number of underappriciated american cars from the 80s. It's the decade where Japanese cars really started to kick ass though.

There are plenty of underappreciated '80s American cars:

- Dodge Shelby Dakota Pickup
- Cadilac Allante
- Buick Reatta
- Ford Thunderbird

etc...

'90s:
1) Chevrolet Corvette ZR1
2) Volkswagen Corrado SLC
3) 1996 Chevrolet Impala SS

Corrado SLC.......It was a pretty sweet car at the time but everyone I know that owns or HAS owned one has always spoken of problems. Don't get me wrong, they are pretty sweet cars but I would never own one today because of how expensive they are to maintain. I have a 95 VR6 and it is even a hassle to maintain but I love it all the same. I don't like the way VW is styling their cars now though. They weigh a hefty amount dispite making good power. Im just sad the VR6 is now strictly in the 3.2l version.

Really? Most Corrados Ive herd about havent had too many problems to speak of. Of course, most of them were of the SLC variety... The G60 had a lot of problems with the ladder supercharger if I recall, but it can be easily fixed with a few aftermarket bolt ons.

I'm going to have to disagree with you on the new VW styling direction, I rather like it. I mean, it is a far cry from the VWs of yore, but it is a good direction nonetheless. I personally think the Corrado is one of the best looking VWs ever to be produced, along with the MKIII Jetta (post 1996 with the darker tail lights), and it still saddens me that they have not come up with a good successor to the Corrado.

Motor Trend and Car and Driver have both said recently that VW is working on it, but as to it being FWD or RWD is still up in the air. I would suppose that the Eos could theoretically be a successor to the Corrado with the top up, espically in VR6 form, but the vario roof kinda botches that theory.

It is a shame as well that they charge so much for the 3.2L VR6 as it is in damn near everything. When they put it with the new DSG transmission, it is a beauty. Ive had an oppertunity to drive the TT 3.2 DSG and it was amazing. It took a bit of getting used to (as I am accustomed to the "normal" manual transmission), but I would be willing to be that the DSG option would be my first checkbox to be filled when ordering my next VW or Audi.

...The Stratos, an interesting choise...

Sometimes I think I am the only person in the US who acutally liked that car. It was a great rally car, and from what I understand, street versions were rather fast as well...

I herd a while ago that a guy is attempting to bring back the Stratos name with Ferrari, using the old 360 Modena platform and engine designs. Id buy one, assuming they would come to the US (and I had the money...)
