Favorite Endurance Race

Usually the one I just finished...

Actually, the one I most enjoyed was the Miata enduro - mostly because that little Mazda's so easy on superhard tyres, you could really work away at your lines and chip away at lap times. When I finished it was like 'oh, gee - could have handled another ten laps there...'.

Rome 2hr. Did it in a stock :aston: Vanquish with only an oil change and superslicks, won by <2s. Great race. Pissed I didn't win the Zonda Race Car though...

The best kind of endurance race is a finished one. My personal fav has to be SSR11 though. To get the car logos up all ya do is click on the get more smileys button and the car ones are at the bottom of the list

Yeah, but putting the GT1 up there makes it too easy. There's nothing like getting to the 1:55:00 mark and STILL having to fight for the win!

That said, I did Trial Mountain in the :aston: Vanquish too, and stopped for five minutes half way through, and then again at the end, and still won by 3 laps.

So far I haven't run any of the 2-hour timed events, but I have to say, I really enjoy the Enduros better than the short races. You get into a rhythm that just doesn't have time to grow in a 2- or 3-lap race. I like the strategy aspect of it too; I kinda wish fuel supply was factored in as well. It's also more fun and more productive to really practice your technique under competition pressure, rather than just free running the same track for umpteen laps.

Plus the rewards are pretty good for the time investment. Most of the 40-lappers can be run in under an hour and a quarter. If I sat down to play, I'd be there that long anyway, so why not run an Enduro?

Absolutely right. It's really good for sussing out how your car behaves in all grades of tyre wear, plus for really learning tracks properly, as in which kerbs to hop, which to miss (and in which cars), rather than just which way the circuit goes. And you can also really learn how the AI drives, and begin to work all that knowledge to your advantage.
