I would Like to know what is your favorite Courage Prototype and your favorite Lola Prototype(P1 or P2)and what was it about the car you liked.

Courage makes some exceptional sportscars. Look at the Courage C60 that took second overall in this year's Le Mans race. On top of the superstar talent that came back from three laps down (all to have overheating problems), the car looks simply amazing. Courage makes some very nice-styled cars, and especially with the Miracle Motorsports crew's Courage (remember to pronounce them as "coo-raj"), this is my favorite one so far.

As far as Lolas go, I guess the most recent ones are the ones I like. I know Courage more than Lola, not to mention like Courage more than Lola. So there you have it.

I have a few favorite Lola prototypes, but I'll concentrate on the top two.

The Lola T-70 MkIII

and the infamous "Corvette GTP" IMSA prototype as campaigned by Hendricks Racing (yes, the NASCAR team).

Interesting car and one would like to know, was the Corvette GTP co-built by lola?

It was fully built by Lola. Chevrolet bankrolled Hendricks and worked in conjunction with Lola to create the Lola T-88 chassis on which the Corvette GTP program was based (much like how Dallara developed the Ferrari 333SP chassis or Riley & Scott developed the Cadillac LMP-01).

The T-88 became a popular chassis in GTP competition because of its low drag (important at Daytona, Elkhart Lake, Phoenix, Portland, and Mid-Ohio) and the reliability of the design. The car was usually equipped with 6.0L Chevrolet V8's which usually were a little low on power compared to the TWR Jaguars, AAR Toyota Eagles, or factory Nissans, but they were well capable of handling the bulk of Porsches and Mazdas.

After Chevy decided to refocus Hendrick's spending, the cars ended up in private hands. Peerless Racing with Jack Baldwin was amongst the new campaigners.

Although the T-88's eventually even received the ungodly powerful 10.0L Eagle engine, these engines proved fragile and the T-88 chassis simply didn't produce the downforce now that the latest Toyota-Eagles and Nissan ZXT's did. The cars were shelved, and now appear occasionally at vintage GTP and Group C events where they are remembered as thundering beasts and as some of the best looking GTP cars of the era.

my favorite courages are the C60s, the 2000 variant and the Andre de cortanze designed 03 car. my favorite lolas are the B2K/10 and the EX 257.

well if I put up a favorite LMP thread, feel free to say that.I like it too so no problem. do you have a favorite Lola?

Probably the diesel powered Lola Caterpillar.

Still yet to finish a Le Mans, but the technological advances are amazing.

true. if it were just faster, then it would awesome. rumors fly that the new Audi R10 will have diesel power so we might see diesel power go all the way very soon.

Do you think we'll ever see diesel in Formula One?

There would be a lot of development to be done to it and some race miles to put it to par considering the vastly different engine formulas of a sports car and a Formula 1 car(might take while if so disired to happen) but it could be a possibility.
