My favorite has to be Nigel Mansell's World Championship racing on the SNES.

Today I picked it up at Ebgames for $4. And I remembered how much I enjoyed playing it 10 years ago.

Honorable mention goes to Top Gear on the SNES.

How about you?

Rad Racer! what other game had fireball turbo, and ridiculous crashes. no to mention the great track design! heh heh. but it was a lot of fun to play...back then.

How about Stunt Car Racer on the Amiga. With the scariest tracks ever. I never could get the draw bridge quite right.

Awesome game. Drawbridge track gave me nightmares.

I also liked Supercars II and Turbo Lotus Challenge on the Amiga, and of course the first game in the Grand Prix series.

I have an Amiga emulator and I occasionally give stuntcar racer a play. I remember playing that First Grand Prix game, reading the instruction book and trying to master driving around Monza. I also thought it had the most kickass intro for a game at the time.

Yes, I was very impressed with GP too when it came out.

I forgot how much fun the A500 was.. I sold it but the UAE is pretty good. Do you know if it's the best emu today? Gotta start up some good old games :)

I have UAE and loads of roms but most of them wont work. It's very fiddly. I still have my A600, I just have to find some games for it.

The newer versions tend to work better, the older versions have no good AGA graphics support. I actually ripped some games to .adf files myself. Oh I extracted the OS rom images from my A500 and A1200 as well though.

Some of my old school faves, (cause we should have a little old school in us)

Rad Racer (NES)
R.C. ProAm (NES)
Al Unser Jr. Turbo Racing (NES)
F Zero (SNES)
F1 ROC (SNES)

Wasn't Rad Racer mostly a copy of a game by Sega or Atari at the time? Out run or something? I was a Nintendo head, didn't pay much attention to Sega or Atari.
I can remember buying it mainly because it said you could play it in 3D and came with 3D glasses to do it. You pressed select and it would screw up the screen and make doubles of everything. It sucked! 👍

Love the others too. Second faveorite system to the PS2 for racing games is the SNES. LOVED F Zero and F1 ROC. The latter is a bit more obscure and less common I think.

The good ol' days!
