Has anyone had any issues with the digital speedometer at all.

Mine on my new car is playing up by showing 888 and the mph and km/h displayed.
This first pic is blurry because i had to grab the camera and take pics as this issue comes and goes, but this is what i normally get while driving.

At times if it doesn't want to show 888 it shows the speed but the LCD is still showing a faint 888

This is a clear example of what it is like, you can still kinda make out the speed(50km/h is a little darker)

This issue is a warranty issue from what i have been told on a honda forum and i will get it fixed when my service is due next month.

Don't think it is a cable issue as it is random, it comes and goes.

Of course it's not a cable issue lol. You car doesn't have a speedometer cable. It looks to me like a display issue - maybe the LCD panel is messed up or something. That's for the dealer to find out though.

Reminds me of the heads-up display we had in the old Bluebird SSS...although that rarely worked and when it did, it was completely wrong.

I've never had that problem with mine - the only problem I've had in five years was my alarm siren wouldn't stop going off after I changed the battery. Looks like you need a new display and/or circuit board from your Honda dealer. Cross fingers it's not a sealed unit and everything needs replacing. There are some pretty good Honda forums out there which might help even if it's just to find out if it's a known issue. Good luck.

I am a member of Ozhonda.

One member said that a few cars came in with this issue.

I have pictures which i can show honda, i just hope that speed camera did not ping me as i was leaving the dealer ship the other day after telling them.

If i get a fine it is typical that bad luck happens, like the display messing up after i told honda and was passing a speed camera.

Well I took the car in for the repair as I had a service due 2 weeks ago and they ordered a new speedometer cluster and the part came today and I got a loan car while they fixed it.

The loan car was a crummy horrid little Hyundai Getz with a loud 1.4l engine.

This thing had less tech than my first car and it was also a base model which I have rules against driving.

After 2 hours I got a call saying my car was repaired, now I hope it doesn't fail again.
