I just played the demo with is available in the Australian & US playstation store, It's looks like first one but a lot better, definitely a game to get.

It will be released here in Australian on february 13 ( Friday the 13th )



Just looking for you opinion.
 
I played the demo at daytime, and it still scared me.

It was really a great demo, but I might rent the game before I consider buying it.
 
Loved the first FEAR in the series. This one seems just as good. So what came first, F.E.A.R. or "The Ring"? Huh, might have to google that.

The Ring did... by about 80 years! ;)

Although Ringu (Ring) came out over ten years ago, and helped spark a huge interest in Japanese/Hong Kong horror films, and lots of American remakes, like The Ring, Dark Water, and The Eye... of which in my opinion only The Ring was an excellent remake... the others are best enjoyed in their original form. 👍
 
They totally got the creepy factor spot on in this game though.

Exactly the same thoughts here. I downloaded it last week and its definitely the scariest game I've ever played. :nervous:

And it was a very long demo with a good amount in it to really give you a feel of the game, a lot of demos are poor and let the full game down badly, this definitely doesn't. 👍
 
Found it a little too linear for me, COD4 and COD5 wow are also linear ie "you must go from point a to b down a set route" but they feel more open whilst Fear2 feels very restrictive in it's layout and map desighn to increase that "fear"factor and feeling of claustrophobia I supose. I did enjoy the first one and the demo did feel and look better than the first, but ultimatly with killzone 2 coming out 2 weeks after fear 2 and then the european version of socom a week after that followed closly by aliens in the same month the FPS market is prety swamped especialy since I've still got resistance 2 sitting on the shelf unopened since christmas!
 
The demo terrified me. I hated it when the lights would flicker and the ghosts and shadows would appear in different places every time. And the hallucinations of the creepy little girl.

i played the first a long while ago but thinkin i will rent this first and decide. the character movement feels floaty to me and no real weight in holding a gun. if that makes any sense.
 
For some reason, I don't remember the first one being that scary, just kind of creepy & some shocking scenes. But then again, I haven't played it in well over a year. This one, though, is just damn scary. Will be playing this one in the dark as I did the first.

I love it. I remember playing the first on on PC. Not that scary, but it had shock factor and scary parts. I'm really looking forward to this one. I know it's linear, but that's nice and straight forward sometimes. :)
 
Played the original on PC, and I was sold then. This game gave me the jitters. especially that part where those white whispy things attacked. I didn't know what the hell to do - run, fight, cower in a corner with my head in my hands? in the end, I came out blasting like Yosemite Sam! I also like how the AI reacts to you. They are very clever and use the surround scenery to their advantage very well.

Definitely one to be played at the dead of night with no lights on! Top game! 👍

I am a big PC FPS gamer. But I got annoyed at the fact the PS3 is cheaper than 1 of my Graphics cards. So I went out and got a PS3. Mainly for GT5 and MGS4. And I am very impressed by the graphics on the PS3 it matches fear 2 on the PC easy. If only all FPS game manufacturers made there games Keyboard and Mouse compatible like unreal 3.

But I am very impressed at the gameplay of FPS games on the PS3.
 
I've played the demo, but it's not my cup of tea. I didn't find it particularly scary, just bizarre. The graphics are nice (in fact very nice), the shoot out near the beginning was fun but the lights going and the phantom "attack" just seemed daft to me.

If you like a "horror" FPS and enjoyed Doom 3 this might be just your thing. For me, I'd rather spend more time with Killzone 2.
 
I'm planning on getting the PC version of this game. Whilst I liked the PS3 demo the PC demo was superior with better aliasing (no jaggies at all @4XFSAA) and better textures. But it wasn't hugely superior.
Never played the first one (the fish-eye really put me off). But this sequel seems to be free of that. It'll do until Killzone 2 anyway!
