Gran Turismo 7 currently features a wide range of vehicles, including Vision Gran Turismo (VGT) cars and Kei cars, both of which are celebrated within the game through dedicated races in the single-player experience and online Sport Mode events. However, there is no way for players to create custom lobbies—public or private—that filter specifically for VGT cars or Kei cars. This is a noticeable limitation, especially when the game itself promotes these car types as distinct and important.
Feature Request:
Please add vehicle category filters for both Vision Gran Turismo (VGT) cars and Kei cars to the online lobby creation tools. This would function similarly to existing filters like Gr.1, Gr.2, Gr.3, Gr.4, Gr.B, and Road Cars.
Why This Matters:
The game itself hosts curated races specifically for VGT and Kei cars, proving that the sorting logic already exists in the backend.
Players cannot currently replicate these experiences in private or public lobbies. Instead, we must manually check opponents’ entries or rely on honor systems, which reduces the quality of the experience.
Many players enjoy creating theme-based events, leagues, and car meets. The inability to filter for these categories limits creativity and event organization.
This addition would bring online lobby capabilities into better alignment with the official content already present in the game.
Suggested Implementation:
Add “Vision Gran Turismo (VGT)” and “Kei Car” options under the Car Selection Restrictions when creating a lobby.
If further refinement is possible, subcategories for VGT (e.g., VGT Gr.1, VGT Road) could be a future enhancement but are not required for the initial request.
Conclusion:
Gran Turismo 7 is celebrated for its attention to detail and passion for cars of all types. Enabling players to filter lobbies for Vision GT and Kei cars would improve the multiplayer experience, enhance community-driven events, and bring the lobby feature set in line with the game's own curated races. This feels like a natural and logical addition to the game.
